The effect is a slow wind-up of the charge sound before it seems to slingshot in and back out for the crit sound.
splatoon 2’s battle music is great but the campaign music blows it out of the water. Dedf1sh and Turquoise October are some of my fave bands in the series edit: splatoon 3 came out, and the story mode music slaps again
Dunno why but for me this song represents Splatoon 2 for me, I must have been like 13 playing this game on a boring trip and grinding all the stages with each weapon. I remember being so excited when the game came out I would rewatch the trailer with this music in it constantly. Splatoon 2 was awesome...
they had no reason not to do it, it's as easy as taking the original theme, making it higher pitched, and making a little transition tune when you hit the final checkpoint
Fun fact, the repeating synths that start at 0:00 and 0:07 actually come directly from maritime memory I love how many subtle musical references to the squid sisters there are in 2s story mode songs
Turquoise october was the band that also made the splatoon 1 music though. alongside that Callies vocals in a lot of turquoise octobers music is sampled from other songs callie made but reversed.

@@omegacanon After you get sterilized you cant go back, thats just an obvious fact, alongside that Kamabo Corp and The octarians arent even aware of eachothers existence as Tartar kept his plan under wraps. as for Marina, she was a part of The elite octarian force who was more into engineering before coming to the surface after the agent 3 octavio standoff, which is when she got into music.
