      I'm a lawyer that went to law school in Chicago in 2002. I actually knew the lawyer that killed his baby's mother and the baby. His name is Fredrick Goings. That was a total shock to me. I didn't know Fred was a fucking monster. Fred was not Eddie Curry's lawyer; he represented Curry's baby's mother in a patenity suit against Curry, and later had a sexual relationship with her. He found out that she was pregnant, and that the baby wasn't his, which made him snap.

      He was a good low-post scorer (better than Tyson Chandler) but a terrible defender, terrible passer, and weak rebounder for a big man. His lack of defensive stats (steals and blocks) and horrible assist to turnover ratio led to the invention of the infamous "Curry line"

    • @dmac5472
      @dmac5472 4 года назад +4

      @@realniggashit3 exactly. Bulls fan here and avid watcher of the show Preps. He was never really the "Baby Shaq" that everyone put on him. But definitely skilled as a low post scorer w good footwork and athletic ability for his size. Loved when the Bulls drafted him, did not want to see Brand traded for Chandler but in hindsight that rookie twin towers idea could have worked possibly but it didnt. The video maker def highlighted the worst parts of Curry. I just wish him well in post bball life because all in all he seemed like a good dude. His family def came off good.

    He had a very nice fluid post game / moves down low, so ballet explains the footwork and grace on the block at his size. I remember Isiah gave up a few 1st round picks to get him which turned into multiple lottery picks. So there was always that underlying Knicks fan pressure demanding greatness for what was given up. Maybe there was more on IT though. Curry showed glimpses.

    Remember being introduced to this brother on the show called "Preps". Based on the Chicago High School basketball prep stars. Eddy was on there, as well his teammate, Jay Straight. Duke great Sean Dockery, Crane high school stud Will Bynum. Whitney Young's Luther Head, and LeVar Seals, to name a few. Great show. Didn't realize Eddy was the leading scorer, on that Baby Bulls team. He definitely didn't have as bad as a career, that his perception perceives.

    I think the Bulls bringing him and Tyson Chandler in together might have stunted his growth as well. Trying to develop one kid fresh out of high school is hard enough. But two? Maybe the Bulls should have kept Elton Brand and tried to play him and Curry together. Maybe some of Brands work ethic would have rubbed off on Curry.

    You're right, he wasn't as bad as many of us were led to believe. The Knicks system at that time was an absolute shitshow...hell the Knicks system now is an absolute shitshow. If he was in a system that suited him and his teammates better, he would've been put in a better light, like how Tyson Chandler blossomed with the New Orleans Hornets. Not to mention that RIDICULOUS contract the Knicks (mainly Isiah Thomas) gave Eddy didn't help either because it made him complacent, regardless of the effort he put in he was still getting his money regardless. I can't put it all on his weight because as big as he was, he still had significant games. There were just way too many egos in those late 2000's Knicks teams, it just wasn't conductive of winning.
