The electric motor uses a single fixed gear ratio. At very high motor rpms power will start to decrease and eventually they shut the electric motor off because it produces so little power at high speeds. Torque should be flat to about 40 mph. You definitely want to start the test around 25 mph and then go as high as you can in that gear. You may even need to log a run that shifts gears to see where the max combined power is. Try the dyno runs again but maybe even try 2nd gear. Stick a Dragy on it and let’s see some 0-60 mph and 1/4 mile times. I bet it does well even in less than ideal conditions.
I noticed coming out of your right front fender where the bumper meets the smoke was coming out. Is that normal?
Saw that too
yeah, that didnt give me the warm and fuzzys. I thought we were going to see another Dyno explosion.. He better up that life insurance. 😁
I was thinking that was just water evaporating off of the front electric motor since I had just driven through the rain. Didn't smell anything burning this time 😂
@@completestreetperformance Did you get the ZER package and what are you going to do for wheels on your ERAY? Please post your TT ERAY acceleration times ASAP. Thanks.
Great info Andrew!!
Paragone Perf said that they had to turn off charge plus or it does wonky shit. The AWD shut off and cause issues with the dyno. Its in their dyno video of their E-ray
Yep, that's how I ran it too. I have some theories and may need to revisit the dyno.
Thanks for the dyno info. It seems to be a PITA.. I think Paragon did theirs in 5th, anther shop did theirs in 4th and yours in 3rd. lol
We did ours in 4th as it's the closest to 1/1 ratio.
I've seen 3 E-Ray reveals and all are the same grey color 😂
Bummer. But mine the only one with stripes though, right? RIGHT?
Thats one boring vett
How difficult will it be to tune the E-Ray?
Time will tell. Ideally it's easy... But that might just be hopes and dreams haha
The electric motor is 100% speed dependent not gear dependent. Electric motors are most efficient at lower RPM's (lower speed) and the torque curve shows that. For consistency, you should try to dyno in whichever gear gets you closest to a 1:1 final drive ratio.
That's why I tested all gears (that made sense). Wanted to determine if the electric motor is also engine rpm dependant as well.
The front motor cuts out at 120mph. So it's a basic Stingray in 5th.
I saw something else from engineers saying it was 150 miles per hour not 120.
Let me know if you want to sell your wheels.
Maybe it needs 500 miles to break in. Before full potential comes out
This was actually after 500 miles. I think. I'm going to have to double check because I'm shuffling the order of videos to make more sense lol
Globle B bro, it doing globle shit.
Interesting video. This is the car I'm on a list for and with the Carbon Ceramic brakes and the AWD, I think this is the best Corvette buy anywhere.
Have you done any 0 to 60 runs? I'd be interested to see how you did. Saw a 2.1 and thought that might be bogus.
Managed a 2.0 with streetspeed717 but I didn't catch it on video. I think he did. I did however get the perfect launch at the track on Tuesday and it launched as hard as the Plaid!
@@completestreetperformance I owned a Plaid for 5 months. Thought I'd not have a license left if I continued owning it. SO went back to my favorite, C8's. I can't wait to get the ERay. Looks like somewhere near the end of the year.
Thanks for the reply. The car is amazing and they throw in Carbon Ceramic brakes as a bonus!!!!!
When are you going to post the video with that launch you did on Tuesday? Also, the match with the Lambo. The Turbo update. Can't wait for it. Lol@completestreetperformance
The KaTech oil pump on my LT4 shows peak pressures of 70+psi and never dips below 35psi.
Would the same pump on the LT2 help mitigate the low oil pressure issues with twin turbo systems?
Different style pump. LT2 is dramatically different.
rephrase: would the Katech LT2 oil pump resolve the oil pressure issues with twin turbo systems?
Electric? Why?
Hybrid motor on the front for more performance/traction. Helps it launch a lot better than the stingray or Z06, and it improves all-weather performance and usability. Fuel economy is about the same as the regular stingray, so it doesn't really do much for fuel economy, but performance is great.
How do you unplug that speaker
It's pretty simple. I'll include it on the next E-Ray video for you
@@completestreetperformance What speaker did you unplug? Is it the thing that pipes in the electric sounding noise in the cabin?
Nevermind, I found the spot in the video where you say it. It's the outside church bell sound when in electric (stealth) mode...
I thought you need 500 mile for brake in first
you make fantastic videos. The eray is a new challenge for you, but I am sure you will conquor it and will also enjoy the ride.
