4” performance center shield plus is super slept on. Easily one of the best carry guns on the market. Maybe even the best.
Appreciate you giving it some attention and love.
Think it’s also worth noting that this gun is also 15+1 too with the new magazines S&W just released for them.

S&W now makes a 15 round mag for the shield plus !
10, 13, and 15 round mags for this now.

These guns are scary accurate!!! Probably the best gun I shoot with irons hands down. So much more of an improvement since the gen 1 Shield. Night and day comparison hands down. Great video and review.

I agree, that trigger feels awesome to me. The S&W M&P Shield Plus is a fantastic little pistol 💪 i loved shooting it.

My beloved EDC gun. Best small gun out there. PC trigger is top notch. The only complaint would be still no rail for lights. We know the Equalizer has a rail but also has that terrible grip safety. Smith still needs to correct this

I used to think my Walther PPS was the best micro compact but now the Shield Plus is king. I'm not a brand slave.

@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 lol I got a Walter pp9 in co.2 bb pistol it has a tiny rail on the bottom its got some weight to it idk what the weight to the real gun but this co.2 is like 2.5 maybe 3lbs

I agree a version with a rail would be nice but I don’t really see it as much of an issue for such a small carry gun.
The tlr6 can realistically do anything I could ever need it to.

The grip safety is a requirement for the EZ pistols, to my understanding. It has to do with the design.

Had the shield plus 4in pc model a year now and took a while for me to get the grip to fit my hand , first i tried a taylon rubber grip , still wasnt big enough so i slipped a hogue rubber grip sleeve over the taylon and that did the job,no other problems , beautiful firearm, i am looking into some night sights, and will replace the crimson trace optic at some point, also i plan on ordering a couple of the 15 round mags that come with the equilizer as they do fit the shield plus as well

The 4” shield plus is super slept on. I think it’s better than the regular model in nearly every way. It’s very similar in size to the p365xl, which is arguably even more popular than the smaller p365. But yet the 4” shield doesn’t seem to get as much attention as the base model of shield. I don’t think S&W has marketed it well enough. It’s definitely a hidden gem.
All that said, i have a 4” shield plus and I liked it so much I just built myself a second one.
I took all the internals out of a 3.1” shield 2.0 and transferred them into a stripped shield plus frame I got off gunbroker.
So it’s kind of a hybrid as it has the older hinged trigger as well as actually having a safety too which you can’t actually get from the factory on a 4” model.
Then I bought a stripped optics ready 4” shield 2.0 slide from cdnn for $50 and transferred all the internals from a 3.1” Slide Over into. Bought a 4” barrel from tr-enabling and had a spare guide rod sent out to me for free from S&W’s excellent customer service team. Then I finally slapped some fantastic night sights on it to top it all off.
So literally every piece of it is made out of the older single stack gen 2 shield, other than the actual frame itself.
What’s better than one 4” shield plus? Two shield pluses.
Thanks for coming to my m&p shield Ted talk.

I have the shorter barrel version. It only had one malfunction on the very first shot but it has ran smooth ever since and this was straight out of the box without a cleaning. I love it and knowing ive got 13 rounds on me with 15 more in my glove box lets me know im not undergunned.

The big problem I had with the shield plus was that neither of my mags that came with the gun would hold the correct amount of ammo. 10 round mag would only accept 8-9 rounds and the 13 round mag would only hold 11-12. I called S&W about it and they said to just leave the mags loaded for a couple of days, rest the mag and repeat process 1 or 2 more times. Never helped. But other than that the gun was soft shooting, very accurate, good texture on the grip and had a great trigger. But I did sell it for a glock gen 5 19 and a glock 48.

I know this is an old comment, but I thought I'd share my solution in case you're still having the same problem.
I had the same issue with my mags, although I only experienced it with the 13rd mags. I followed the directions in the manual to disassemble the magazines, and saw that all 4 of the 13rd mags were assembled incorrectly. I reassembled them, making sure the spring was actually seated into the baseplate properly, and then I was able to load them to 13 with some difficulty. Through repeated use, it is now easy to load them to 13.
      Hope this helps!

    • @dimmymackster431
      @dimmymackster431 Год назад

@@elijahsnodgrass2036 I already sold the gun, because another issue that I was encountering was the fact that the mag when seated into the gun was causing a lot of pressure. It resulted in the gun being almost impossible to rack back to load a round.

Replace that low budget red dot with the Crimson Trace Micro Pro. it sits lower so those Christmas colored sights will co-witness. The Micro Pro will self- adjust to lighting conditions, will turn off automatically, and has the "shake -awake feature. I like the trigger on my .30 SC Shield+, but it pales to the P/C trigger.

i’ve had problems with certain ammo feeding through the shield pc. in particular, the 115 grain Winchester 9mm has been having quite a few “click, no bang”s. maybe 1 in every 25. i was told they may have a few bad batches with mass production. sounds like an ammo problem, however most that i try work just fine

For carry purposes, I like the Hornady Critical Defense. For the range, most FMJ’s work just fine! I’ve only had problems with the Winchester 115 grain 9mm FMJ. 1 in every like 25 have a light primer strike. Otherwise, I’ve had no problem with any others.
