Once again, great video. Thanks for the breakdown and the inclusion of the ghost notes. Ive been wanting to take my walking lines to another level, but sometimes I'm not sure when to add ghost notes without sounding kinda corny. This track is at a good tempo where I can practice along and get comfortable adding them, so no matter the tempo, I'm comfortable with it. Thank you, Bro. Jermaine!

This is really cool man. I have a friend who is blind and has a yamaha 6 string. He is playing in a church band. I met him at MI in hollywood where we were both going for bass. He understands a lot of basic theory and all and was doing pretty good before he lost his vision but he is still learning stuff. I will send him more info like this to check out.

Great video! I'm a bass player at church, and while the music we do isn't Gospel (more Bethel or Hillsong), you showed how any bass player can "telegraph" the chord changes with half steps and ghost notes while keeping the groove tight. I passed your like to our worship leader. Many thanks!

Wow - this is like a jolt of adrenaline. Interesting to compare to, for example, Charlie Parker's Donna Lee - similar tempo & also walking - but the attacks and durations and fills here give this style of walking a super-electrifying feel - it's like the missing link between old school swing and modern shuffle.

Could you please play this in Ab?
Sound great with cool presentation but i think you were fast withought really considering beginers as intended.
So i gusest you go slow next time for beginners, medium speed for intermediate and fast for advanced players.
Also i suggest you should try as much as you can to demonstrate using on finger on the left hand so that beginers can easily identify the fred, strings and note you are playing on.

Thanks for the feedback. Might I suggest the speed settings feature here on youtube that allows you to slow it down. I have a paid course on my website for beginners if these lessons are too advanced.

If the guitar is using chords G-C-D-C, how do you do bass walk? What specific notes need to use?
That all really depends on the chords being used. If we’re talking G Maj then you could use the triads of G Maj - C Maj - D7 - C Maj… Just as the foundation for walking…
