Bought the five string version when they first came out, sounded really good until the preamp stopped working. Replaced it with Bartolini electronics and pick-ups. Sounds just a good as my more expensive basses.
i just got in the shoreline gold version with roasted maple neck, i love it. I already had a 70's jazz bass from Squier that I absolutely love. Im thinking its hit or miss with Squier but the ones Ive bought have been incredible and a great value for what you get
@@klaymeister check out the 70's jazz bass, i saw nothing but great reviews on it, thats what pushed me over the edge to buy a squier. I was blown away by how great they are, and they sound great too
I feel the same way. Hated the jaguar I started on. But, I loved my buddy's jazz bass. Maybe the regular p bass and jazz bass are the way to go with Squier
@@klaymeister lmao yes it's coming from Marietta, GA. Oh man, I bought your bass. I really hope they addressed those issues but I used to work for Guitar Center and I don't have high hopes. I think I can probably fix some of those issues at home though. Crazy coincidence!
@@klaymeister Welp, just got an email from GC saying my order was cancelled. I contacted them and found out it's because the bass is being repaired, so that's good. I don't mind having to find another one, but I guess I won't be getting your bass after all. Not unless they relist it before I find another one.
I hate the pickups on this bass,...nasally sounding ceramics with a active preamp that can't cover up that flaw. And a rough neck that feels like it was never introduced to some sandpaper.

I was looking at the new ones, but after this experience I wasn't so sure about getting another.

@@zachjones1716 ive seen mainly great reviews for the 70's jazz bass, really love mine
@@BillyBlaze7 I've been eyeballing the jazz v versions of those. They're my fav fender bass design rn lol
Mine had a broken preamp knob : it moves by itself !
i sent it back
the action was very high too
The wiring is wrong. I have one and both sets of wiring are the same not swapped like yours.
Thanks for this. I wasn't able to fix the issue but now I know
It looks like someone already had that bass apart from the state of inside that back cavity!
Man, I just ordered this bass used from guitar center's website. I hope it's not the same one you just returned with all these issues...
They were going to address them at the store. Is it coming from Georgia?

I have this bass, and you said it well, it has a nasal sound, it sounds like old strings. Doesn't sound like jazz bass
