You should be on prescription. Everyone should be getting a daily dose of your encouragement, joy and positivity. Every video of yours I watch I've left so inspired. I'm 50 and have spinal cord injuries from assault and spinal arthritis. I love my garden - I NEED it for sanity and therapy - but my spine isn't fit for digging and bending any more. Sometimes I can't even access it at all - depending on pain levels. To set up towers like this just outside my back door would be a godsend to me. I'd have my food accessible all year and just to have soil to push my hands into.... I have been so grateful for your videos in the past. I am MOST grateful for this one. Bless your cotton socks good lady. Thank you for being fabulously you and sharing this

Thank you soo much for these videos. My Dad always had a garden and always shared the fruit of his labors, so I never really had a need to garden. But, my Dad passed away and I just bought a house and have no idea on any type of gardening. I have been watching countless videos on how to garden and I have been overwhelmed. But, then I came across your videos.. I am so happy!!! I think I can do this!! No! I know I can! Thank you and your Hubby sooo much for putting up these videos. You have no idea how they help ( or maybe you do) clueless people like me. You are a Blessing in disguise!

Just curious about an update. How has your gardening been? Is there anything you did that didn't work well? I'm starting my first garden this year, and like you, I have no idea what I'm doing. Watching tons of videos and getting some great ideas though.

I love your gardening style, seems like a more natural way to do it than most other videos I've watched. I filled a big tote in my backyard with shredded newspaper and some composted grass/leaves I had, and some kitchen scraps, added in a bit of leftover bagged potting mix, and I've got spaghetti squash growing like crazy in there. I've also got little pots of tomato plants in there that are about ready to transplant. Also it's full of good worms. This is so much easier than videos that tell you to measure this much fertilizer, this much of this and that, plant this deep, etc. etc. This is my new style to garden, love it!

I was once in a community garden with a bunch of novices. I planted a row of garlic I had started from market bought garlic of various sized bulbs. The plants were uneven in size and I planted them to just cover the root section. When I left a woman came in and replanted all the plants so that they would stick out of the guound the same hieght! Needless to say, thise she replanted too deep all died. You can be as expressive as your little heart desires to get your garden to look as you want, but planting depth is critical for just about anything but vining plants like tomatos and water spinich, etc.

OH, 'I love you' and you make ME feel so good! This should work great and EASY for you....you can make the tower the height that works best for you, and than it should be so easy to maintain and harvest from. Stores carry these plastic containers of all sizes, and just get 2 or 3 different sizes and you are gardening! Again, thank you so much! Love, Robbie

"I AM BUILDING A TOWER" Robbie - you have no idea how much you've changed my whole approach and love for gardening...in a week! I'm a new gardener...it's my first year of trying stuff..learning and making mistakes ...I just ate cucumbers I grew myself from seed and it was life affirming. I didn't know I was looking for this carefree instruction...but now I've found your videos IM FOREVER GOING TO SEE ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING SOOOOO DIFFERENTLY!!! Your approach to growing is so FUN!! I just went through my recycle bin and pulled out ALL the cardboard and paper I had thrown out this week and thought "this is crazy! Why did I throw this away! It's COMPOST!" then I marched up the our unofficial junkyard behind our shed and found a large black plastic tub, heaps of pots, and all sorts of things that are GOOD TO GO! Then, when I was driving home from work I spied a huge pile of verge side wood chip compost left by the local shire....I know it's been there (decomposing) for over 2 years but I never noticed it til today - .so my husband and I drove down there and filled three huge garden bags full so I could mulch my citrus trees! It was such rich and luscious soil I couldn't believe it!!! I plan go back and get 3 bags a day until that pile is GONE! and I will be HAPPY...because it will be IN MY GARDEN!!!!! THANKYOU SO SO SO MUCH!!

Before you try to sttaighten the coiled up roots of a root bound plant for transplanting, put it in a larger container of water and soak it about an hour. That loosens the particles of growing mix, and hydrates the plant thereby softening the roots so they don't break. The root hairs also are coated with water and they slide out better. If the root hairs are not wetted they begin to die immediately upon exposure to air. Then the plant has to grow root hairs to apsorb water and it will wilt and may even die. You can also put 1 tbl spoon of soluble fertilizer per 4-5 gal. of water for the soak. That is called starter solution. No, it does not keep the plant roots from growing in it's new location.

I had a similar idea ( Of course, I got my idea from watching your previous videos.) ... I got a good deal on 2 large planters ... I set them in the garden and began filling them with compostables (kitchen scraps and woodchips, mainly) ... then I set a smaller pot on top of each of them with spinach growing in it. The other day I scooted the top planter to the side and planted thyme in the bigger pot. I plan on placing a marigold next to the thyme. I didn't think of adding an empty pot for more compost! Now I need 2 really big pots to put on the bottom ... I love your ideas ... they stretch my thinking ... lol. We are just now getting warm enough here to put more plants out.

    Thanks Robbie
I have several large toots. I’m going to start composting in each toot. I will place them under my fruit trees so the trees will be fertilized automatically. Next year I will plant vegetables in them. I love your ideas. Thanks for all you do for us. God Bless you ❤️

Robbie, you are a Genius!!! This tote/chair gardening idea is Awesome!,,,, You understand composting which I don’t do. I don’t quite understand how your eco system works and the drainage so I wish you would make a video from scratch so I can follow it. I am addicted to watching your videos and LOVE your enthusiasm!! Keep up the great work. I’m in Southern Missouri so we have HOT Summers but milder Winters. Thank you for showing us how to be more self sufficient. I’m all all that! God bless, now I’m back to watching you. 🍅🍉🍓🌽🥚🥬🥒🌶🥕🥦🥑🍊🍋🍐🍇

I just found your videos this week and I am so looking forward to getting into growing my own vegetables and fruits. I followed another RUclipsr about 3 years ago, spend tons of $$$ following her tips, suggestions, etc., and had almost no success at all. I look forward to trying your method and I already feel confident that I will have much more success this year.

You had me with "can't bend over". You have inspired me to no end. I just turned 79 and love to grow things. You have just made it possible for me. I have started a bin of compost in the back yard. I live in zone 5 in Utah so we don't have the warm climate you do, but I think I can make it work. Thank you.

I recently moved house and was so excited to own a double block to have a food forest. I was so upset when I realised I have compacted soil and could only grow fruit and nut trees. I now am so excited as my tote and chair garden are bountiful.. I have a zucchini that is trailing everywhere, 2 passionfruit trailing along a fence from a big pot, just planted potatoes in a cardboard box also learned from your channel. I now have over 100 plants in pots and totes. Everyday is now filled with excitement as I tend to my garden .. THANK YOU ROBBIE with all my heart. 🌻🌷🐞🌿🐈‍⬛

Brilliant! I’d planned to make a raised bed this year & spent a long while last evening searching for a reasonably priced, durable, attractive one. SO glad I did not order! Simply genius! I enjoy gardening but had gotten away from it b/c we owned a cabin until recently, & weekends & vacations were spent there. Now that I can be home regularly, I’m excited to turn our neglected small backyard into a lovely oasis. You rock! New subscriber here!

Great ideas - so much inspiration - and it totally fits into my ideas of how to open into creativity in all areas.. Just go for it, it does not have to be perfect in every detail. You have to do it, be curious and have fun - and you learn a lot in the doing- thank you for your passionate attitude for growing something anywhere
