I can sort of understand that, and I'm a lead alto player. The sort of context with the backing track to solo over right there is kind of confusing, so he just did some sax sheds which was alright. I feel like his first have was super groovy jumping all around the horn, then I fell it kind of got boring. I wouldve probably have given the section a little more room to breathe and put more thought into my solo, but I still like his first half
I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for, but I think if you search up "big band jazz" or "big band modal jazz" or "big band bebop jazz" you might find something you like
According to a friend I have who was on that gig (believe me or not) Louis was drinking straight vodka that night - hence his erratic/unlike him actions, and lack of accuracy as compared to the studio videos.
YES! So amazing! So happy that these videos from this show are getting posted!
Look at Louis face at 1:20 when the sax solo starts
Video doesn’t do his sound quality, on the flugel, justice. He was unbelievable on the night!
Кайф....)))👍🎺🎷

Like #140 and still no thumbs down. Life is good.
2:45 lost complete interest of the saxophone solo 🤦🏾♂️

Check out the Buddy Rich band from 70s-80s. Lots of stuff like that.
Those 4 measures is the best part

Still sounds Hella good
is this the concert under the bridge? What horn are you playing Louis? It appears silver and nor your gold plated 43 lightweight Bach
he switched to a bach 37 with the two piece valve block
I believe he’s a Yamaha artist. Check his channel.
