OUR WILDEST RIVER SAFARI IN AFRICA! 🐘 (Liwonde National Park, Malawi)

In this Malawi travel vlog, we visited Liwonde National Park on an amazing river safari experience on the Shire River. Due to frequent questions around this, we have put down both references here:
1. HIPPO VIEW LODGE ([phone]):

2. RIVER SAFARI AT LIWONDE NATIONAL PARK with MBISHE TOURS & SAFARIS ([phone]):
We sailed on the MV Mbishe, a safari boat with captain Gerald. We went up the Shire River and entered the Liwonde National Park upstrea. We saw many incredible wild animals such as hippos, crocodiles, warthogs, impalas, wild monkeys and baboons and the most amazing sight: a herd of African elephants crossing the river Shire!
The cost of doing this River Safari at Liwonde National Park or River Shire is actually a LOT cheaper than in neighbouring African countries and costed us:
Entry tickets to the national park: USD 30 per person (September 2024)
Seat on the safari boat MV Mbishe (20 seater and 6 seater boats): starting at USD 25 per person. The prices change depending on seasonal demand and no of passenger you want to book the safari for - however, we found Captain Gerald offered a better package at a cheaper local price than a few other tours run by the western-owned lodges on the east bank of the river.
