      Hey Alex, thank you! Looking forward to combine this beast with some plinkedy-plynk ;)

    Yeeey thanks for the nice vid! Really puts our own demos to shame! Having other people play with the machine always gives a nice fresh perspective on what we built - and why we built it :-) Thanks!

      Yaaaaay, we are very happy to be one of the beta testers for this machine! Patching is so much fun and the sonic possibilities are nearly endless :)

    DEF one of the best sounding synths out therE

    This enormously expensive synth and a demonstration of the most rudimentary little loop on it.

      Well it sounds simple .. but if you map it out, it has four sequences added into on another with logic, carefully randomized resets for the subdivisions, an eight bar three analog voice chord progression with two filter modulated with a complex LFO, plus bassline, again through a stereo filter. So neither is it technically a loop because none of the iterations are the same, nor would a similar system made up of individual modules that provide the same thing be any less expensive.
      That being said, it's a modular system and can be patched to suit your style, and we really love playing and patching this machine. If you can, get your hands on one at the next Superbooth (fingers cossed), make a short video and impress us!

      @@MakingSoundMachines Okay, it’s not a loop, pedantically speaking. It’s a 4/4 repeating chord progression with a bit of not-extremely-exciting rhythmic variation. You might quibble about sound quality, but you could do this (no, not exactly this, but this isn’t Aphex Twin either) more cheaply and easily with a simple keyboard synth and an affordable drum machine, on which it wouldn’t seem nearly as complicated to achieve.
      So you’re kind of missing my point when you say it would take a similar collection of modules at a similar price to mimic. Isn’t the point of modular to go places you haven’t been to before, not just to do normal things is a more complicated way? Surely this is not a techno machine; surely its strengths lie elsewhere. All this functionality and we’re still tied down to 4/4 time. Where are the big dreams of far out "futuristic" sound?
      I wish you good luck with your product. I’m sure it’s in fact very capable and very flexible.

    this is supposed to be a synthesiser not a drum machine, why does no one do anything that shows what a synth is capable of rather than some lame drum sounds.

      Because making melodies with synthesizers is a boomer thing.

      it is not a mere synthesizer, it is a modular synthesizer in a box... ;)
      how about you state what exactly you would like to hear/see? :)

    • @RomanBuehler
      @RomanBuehler 4 года назад

      because, being a modular synthesizer, the range of possibilities are quite vast... in this video, if i understood right, makingsoundmachines are only demonstrating the sequencer module and how you can use it in conjunction with an external sequencer... the use of soundfonts is just a convenience... ;)
      an exact statement of what i'd like to hear/see:
      i'd love to see a demo showing off the clean sound of the oscillators and maybe some other demos running the various sound sources through the individual modulation and effect modules...
      as a bonus: make a full track... :)
