Maybe 250k just to FLY there, but to LIVE there would cost waaaaaaaaaaaay more
Imagine having the influence/funds to literally do anything you could ever envision. Wanna start up your own internet/wifi service? No problem. Wanna build a crazy looking electric truck? No problem. Wanna go to Mars? No problem. Seriously, Elon Musk is the definition of a badass. I'm surprised that they haven't updated the dictionary yet.
Trusting me this guy is literally playing with rockets 😂😂 he sent a fuckimg Tesla into orbit THERE IS A TESLA FORBER ORBITING THE SOLAR SYSTEM🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
its more about the intelligence than the influence or funds, Mr Musk is smart enough to design and produce anything he envisions therefore he is the wealthiest one living now
Musk invents nothing. He’s the definition of a total fraud. Like his hyperloop, Tesla truck, solar tiles and whatever else this will quietly be forgotten after it doesn’t happen and you’ll all be fawning over some other bullshit endeavour he won’t deliver on
You are a gullible dimwit if you believe this nonsense. Where's the crazy electric truck that Musk promised? Oh that's right, it never happened. His internet service still can't hold any water to cable internet. Wanna go to Mars? My guy, he can't even launch a fucking probe or rover to Mars, do you actually think he'll launch a spaceship( while apparently not understanding the problems of low gravity and radiation exposure)? Jesus, you are gullible.
I'd also like to help build and develop the creation of the Martian base as well as planning on wanting to create my own space company one day and make space tourism affordable to most people. Though it will take 10s of billions just to theoretically build either a space hotel, or a Lunar base. It's gonna be a very challenging goal to beat.
I think having a city on Mars as large and feature-rich (safety, healthcare, amusements) as a moderately big city on Earth would be enough to attract people to live on Mars. Most people live their entire lives in the city they're born in anyways
To see a mission to mars, including the establishment of our first colony on another planet, within my life time is more exciting than anything else Ive ever experienced. For a few moments I sometimes fear I'm just dreaming it. Then I watch all the videos on SpaceX's plans and tests and schedules. This is insane. I love all of it. Every second of it.
After Mars the next logical step is ceres. Not for colonizing just for resources. You can put a station there and stuff. After that then you've got jupiters moons. Particularly Ganymede because it already has a magnetic field to protect it from solar winds. In fact it is the only moon in the solar system that has a magnetic field like earth has. It also has oxygen in its atmosphere although not a high enough percent for humans and potentially could have liquid water beneath its surface.
MATTEO BELLINI By the gas giants I meant their moons like Titan near Saturn. But yes that would be very interesting, seeing the Solar System gradually settled like the American Old West.
Resources? The energy required to launch gigantic freight ships back and forth is unimaginable. And that is in top of your ship burning up on entering te atmosphere every single time.
I don't think anyone really would. No clouds or trees or lakes, you'll never feel wind again accept from an AC unit, you'll effectively be in a tent, in a desert without a breathable atmosphere. Sounds horrible. I'd totally do it but only if I could make periodic trips back to Earth.
You could try today how you would like it. Spend your next holiday entirely in your cupboard, because that is the amount of personal space Musk has planned for you according to the plans at the SpaceX website. Also, do not shower during this time because there is no such thing in space (you can use wet wipes) and eat microwave food as a space food simulation only. You must exercise two hours every day on a home trainer though, without exception. At the end of your 2 week "holidays", imagine how you would feel like doing this for 9 months straight, but at the end you will be most likely severely ill, only, you cannot go to see a doctor on Mars. Also, you will be so weak that you would need someone to help you walk, especially in your 250 Kg space suit, even if it only weights 45 Kg on Mars. I bet you cannot make it 2 minutes in your regular life carrying 45 Kg. In that state, you would have to start building your habitat on Mars with your buddies, who are equally fucked up as you are. Btw, the 10 trillion are the launch costs for food on Mars for 6 months and to get there. So, are you still going? There is no Holiday Inn waiting for you on Mars and there won't be any sight seeing. Just you re-breathing 12 months old farts, stale food odour and sweat from your buddies.
I hope we are all alive including Elon when this event happens. His goal of making life multi-planetary will be the the highest achievement anyone could ever make. Thank you Elon for trying to sustain human life in a universal scale.
I just did the math, and one of those proposed rockets travels at a speed which is around 48.6 times that of a commercial airplane. The trip from SFO to CDG (Charles DeGaulle Airport, France) is normally 650 minutes, so one of these rockets would complete the trip in just 13 minutes and 18 seconds (approximately).
Imagine that, Mad 50th birthday on Mars with the lads. I'd eat a Mars bar, make dust angels, eat a milky way, have a cappuccino, take a group picture of the lads outside and perhaps even watch tv from the comfort of my inflatable mars bouncy castle habitat lol
@@nanagaming9731 I hope you will still be living in a free & independent nation. My fear is that you will not be. In that case I do not envy you. In 2090 you will be 80. In 2150 we will both be dead and forgotten. Have a nice life.
If any one has followed Elon musks work they would know the reason musk has no intention of receiving anything back and is willing to spend so much to colonies Mars is simple it's because there is so many catastrofic anomomolies that happen everyday on earth Elon is a percentage guy and there is high percentage that the earth will at one point or another have a catastrofic event and the best way to insure human life is to have us be a multi planetary race meaning if earth dies Humans survive on Mars or vise versa Elon musks plan isn't to make money it's to insure human life . I doubt anyone will actually ready this but if you do give it a like .
Since Mars is an inhabitable planet, a Mars colony will only ensure the survival of humanity in case of Earth being exploded into pieces. If Earth's main structure remain intact then no matter how much we destroy the surface, climate, wildlife, etc. it is still gonna be a better place for humanity to live on than any other planet in the Solar system. If everything goes shit on Earth, building a self-sustainable, sealed "container" city still could be done on Earth with fraction of the costs compared doing the same on Mars. That doesn't mean colonizing Mars is pointless, exploration has always pushed humanity forward, but colonizing Mars itself will not ensure humanity's survival, the things we could learn by doing it might.
@@superberry4943 If terraforming becomes reality then Earth can be saved as well with much less effort, since fixing a habitable planet is way easier than completely changing an inhabitable one.
Well, isn't US alone enough for you? They must have discovered chemical weapons there... ignoring the nuclear warheads directed to them by North Korea.
If Elon Musk ran to become president, the only person who could even come close to challenging him would be if Tupac showed us he's alive and ran against him.
I want to go to mars so bad. Ill just hitchhike my way over there. First ill go to the moon and from there ill just hold my thumb up each time Insee a spacerocket passing by hoping they stop and pick me up
If only this thought, time, and money was being put into sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and tackling climate change. Space is cool and all but the idea that colonizing Mars is a solution to anything is illogical. If we cannot sustain ourselves on a planet that has near infinitely more resources than Mars, how the hell are we going to support a Mars colony?
Me excited now itself to tell my future kids about how adventures our era was with some extra boasting 😂😂..but still part of a historical moment which will probably ever happen...
"We have to land on Earth before it's too late. If we can't save the bumblebees it won't be worth striving for Mars. As an 8-year-old boy once told me, "We have landed on the moon but we haven't landed on Earth yet." It is time we set our sights for this planet while we still have one."
you guys do know that literally small thing can change the future? maybe invest some stock of SpaceX, or start company to help go Mars. If 1 thousands people who is commenting is done that, future will DEFINITELY change.
I completely understand the reasoning behind it but the inhospitable environment will surely make a large colony too difficult to sustain as well as making the lives of colonists extremely harsh
How you all could want to travel to Mars, blows my mind I don't think I could handle the space travel part... My mind would shatter... And I think id go insane
You would never be able to experience anything other than the inside of whatever structure you manage to put down or erect there. Your whole life in regulated artificial conditions.

This whole "Let's go live on Mars" hype is just so . . . dumb. No one is ever excited to live in a desert or in Antarctica, or at the top of Mount Everest and yet Mars is like that only ten times worse as there is no breathable air(practically a vacuum), no life, the soil is acidic, no water(unless you can extract and purify the toxic, deep underground lakes), and as if they could build good cities there with decent hotels, restaurants, parks, and a functioning economy. Humans can barely build good communities here on Earth. What makes people think, trying to build one on a desolate wasteland is a good idea. Also, I always hear about people complaining staying at a hotel with slow wifi. Even if you had internet connection on Mars, it would take radiowaves around 6 minutes or more to reach earth and back to Mars. Internet connection on Mars is gonna be sh!t. Living there is gonna be boring as f.
@@ishmarasaily1449 you're right I don't understand your English. But I suppose once you land on the surface of Mars and you get back into orbit, getting the telemetry and getting back to earth is probably easy. It's the landing and getting back up into orbit that's probably the most involved.
Veego von DOOM- Reviews! It is only a one way trip. If you were to go back you’d need bone augmentations because you would be weaker, due to way less gravity. Supposedly 60% of what it is in earth
Black Dragon you don’t get it, you’d need heavier materials to make useful weights, and your body mass can’t take that’s after it’s been adapted to the gravitational pull of mars, not like it would for a few years. Especially with inflation, by the time this actually becomes a thing, today’s 250k will really be worth at least 500k. He’s only saying an impossibly cheap price to get peoples attention. Maybe 250k just to FLY there, but to LIVE there would cost waaaaaaaaaaaay more

Wanna go to Mars? No problem. Seriously, Elon Musk is the definition of a badass. I'm surprised that they haven't updated the dictionary yet.

its more about the intelligence than the influence or funds, Mr Musk is smart enough to design and produce anything he envisions therefore he is the wealthiest one living now
Musk invents nothing.

@Centauri A how? If I am an astronaut I will be paid to go there
I think having a city on Mars as large and feature-rich (safety, healthcare, amusements) as a moderately big city on Earth would be enough to attract people to live on Mars. Most people live their entire lives in the city they're born in anyways

Ceres would be a great outpost and checkpoint to the gas giants.
MATTEO BELLINI By the gas giants I meant their moons like Titan near Saturn. But yes that would be very interesting, seeing the Solar System gradually settled like the American Old West.
Ganymede seems like somewhere that would be easy to terraform
Finally! A high IQ comment
Resources? The energy required to launch gigantic freight ships back and forth is unimaginable. And that is in top of your ship burning up on entering te atmosphere every single time.
Watching the video gave me hope for the human race.

I like how his older photos makes him look older
