On a visit to Truro cathedral in the mid 80’s the organist was just packing up as we entered the cathedral. My then girlfriend (now wife) and myself were the only people in there other than the organist and an American tourist. The American guy said he would make a substantial donation to the cathedral if the organist would play Toccata and Fugue in D minor for him on the organ. He promptly wrote out a cheque (I don’t know the amount) and we got to listen to this great piece of music in the empty cathedral, which was a spine tingling moment.

Jesus Christ is the only hope in this world no other gods will lead you to heaven
There is no security or hope with out Jesus Christ in this world come and repent of all sins today
Today is the day of salvation come to the loving savior Today repent and do not go to hell
      Come to Jesus Christ today
Jesus Christ is only way to heaven
Repent and follow him today seek his heart Jesus Christ can fill the emptiness he can fill the void
Heaven and hell is real cone to the loving savior today
Today is the day of salvation tomorrow might be to late come to the loving savior today
Holy Spirit Can give you peace guidance and purpose and the Lord will
      John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
      Mark 1.15
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
      2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
      Hebrews 11:6
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
      Jesus

St Austell is a shadow of its former self.
When the clay industry was much bigger (profitable) there was a relatively decent amount of money flowing through the town with a “local” department store “Broads”, “Morgan’s” a large furniture shop, a pretty big Woolies and was home to the main “Kelly’s” cafe - the company name that’s now known nationwide for their Cornish Ice Cream. I don’t think it’s still held by the Kelly family.
(There was even an “International” supermarket if you’re old enough)
Best thing in St Austell was The Thin End, a cafe that I’ve still yet to find an adequate replacement for, although you can go down to Pentewan’s Little Bay cafe and get some of the same cakes.
To give you an idea of how bad things have got, one firm of solicitors closed their branch office when the lease came up because they didn’t like the idea of their clients encountering the unsavoury types and the syringes that they were leaving around the nearby church area.

    Nice, 43 didn't disappoint.
You missed another obelisk in Falmouth. And yep, we dig a lot of holes down ere.
Not sure you could say St Aufull's doing well for it's self, crackhead central and dying on it's arse.
Still, good but weird to see you so close to where I am and your take on the interesting bits.

Been to Eden Project twice when I was a kid. Cool place, much prefer to walk around Looe or Polperro. I think there was an indoor market in or near St Austell too. I found a copy of the PS2 game State of Emergency there and brought it home after my holiday there ended.
Actually I think it wasn't that far from St. Austell's ASDA store, if it's still there.

      Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
      Jesus
