    Polyphasic sleep and the cost of oversleeps. There is a lot of different information out there about oversleeps, alcohol, and coffee and how they will affect your polyphasic sleep adaptation. Today I clean up some of the confusion and share how these things have affected me over the last several weeks.

    So sorry to hear about your dad. I hope they found it soon enough. Stressors like that can wreck anyone's sleep schedule. It's good yours wasn't too badly messed up.
    I know you've mentioned meditation before, maybe if things build up like that you can meditate before nap or core sleep to try and clear the mind?
    Hope all is well. I wish coffee wasn't so bad for poly sleep!

      Medication is a good idea. I'll try to make some time for that. I'm sure you're right, and it would help.
      Yeah...I love my coffee too. Almost enough to risk my sleep schedule :)

      Jake Bee Insight Timer is a free app I love to use. If you select guided meditation you can say how much time you have and they even have ones 5 minutes or less!

    Tip: Try increasing the mic volume, it's significantly lower than other videos on youtube.

      Thanks Kabir. I haven’t posted it in a video but the cancer got him about 7 months after this video. It was a hard time but we made it through as a family. I appreciate you reminding me of him today.

      Thank you so much. This comment had good timing. He actually passed about a week ago, the funeral was last Wednesday. We had a wonderful ceremony.

    That's really what I need to do. Just get up or atleast sit up. I also need more alarms just in case. Been late to work twice this week

      Yeah, I'm really working on that. My issue is that it's cold in the house so I don't want to get up...haha.

    To further your comment on alcohol, while it may make you sleepy and it may seem like it will help you fall asleep faster, it actually blocks melatonin production. This means you won't get nearly as good quality sleep as you would have without the alcohol. Like you said, drink alcohol as far away from your next sleep as you can so your body can process it and continue to produce melatonin when it needs to!

      I have not been doing poly. I was living in a tiny home for the last 2 years, and couldn't do poly or make videos. I just got into a normal house again and will be able to start making content again soon!
