Palmer has the same strategic long view of the future, and critically, of the past history as China does. Together with his creative brilliant ideas, he is a great asset to his country. He is, 😮however, not well understood by many in his country which means he is unpredictable. This very unpredictability is what protects him and his company but he’s also at great personal risk so he’s going to need protection, preferably by his own developed technology!

This was a great interview. I like Palmer Luckey, I liked his My First Million podcast interview. And I like Emily Chang, she is a brilliant interviewer.
I think the reason modern US tech companies are hesitant to work with the military are twofold: (1) we trust the military/leadership decision making process much less than we used to (having gone through Vietnam, Iraq, etc; and (2) most of the talent is comprised of immigrants who are not US citizens and may need to return to their home country if their visas expire (not to mention their family members still in China/Pakistan/Iran, etc)

The US should annex the northern part of Mexico (the plateau) which will shrink the border and can be better manned and protected. Even buying out the land is a good option. AND also merge Canada into the US. That is the only way to compete with EU, China, India markets.

You can't really get the security clearances you need to work at defense contractors unless you are a US citizen. My partner has a clearance.
