Please release original unedited interview
That interview drove into the depths of YC. Excellent interivew, slick production and and insightful content. Thank you Bloomberg.
My dad was diagnosed with 3rd stage colon cancer. The day I heard this news, I went into a depression. His treatment went on for 2 years, and now he has recovered. I totally agree with Paul, there should be a colon screening for everyone.
The problem is insurance companies tell medical industry that colon screening only at 45 years old. I think everyone should do screening even before that. Also, important to adjust diet habits and decrease putting things in your body that contribute to those things.
Any of the early preventable ones. We've lost so many, Steve Jobs being a famous one, but my heart goes out to everyone reading who has lost a loved one in a similar way
2 living legends! What a gem of an interview! Wow!
Thank you very much, Bloomberg!!! If there are any more of their interviews please do post them!!!
Amazing interview, thank you Jessica and Paul for creating such an amazing institution that has protected and helped a lot of startups.
Wow thank you so much for this! Such a treat!
Amazing people , really amazing people. Just made me very happy to witness decency.
Thanks for sharing this interview.
One hears about YC in investor talks and forums, first time hearing from the heros that founded YC.
Thanks @Emily for hosting such an authentic duo.

Sam Altman did amazing work at YC that it made Jessica's work easy. I was not surprised he went on to start Open AI.
He didn't start it. Musk probably deserves more credit for than any other one person, but many conflicting ideas and philosophies are involved, Hasibis and Sustkever included
Radford is also there, last I heard
great interview.
Amazing, insightful and touching! Thanks Paul & Jessica!
love PG and Jessica!!!!
Learning so much ! how clear and transparent they are ! They are such a great fit👍
Thank you so much to everyone who make this interview happened.
Paul and Jessica are rockstars!!
A timestamp (when this conversation was had) on this would be awesome
Paul Graham's stories about getting in trouble every year as a kid is awesome, have never read that in his essays or any of the other suggested talks
And of course the colon cancer bit is so sad. Just so so sad. Sorry for your loss, Paul
Emily was pretty nice to them overall, but she definitely interrupted and poked around a lot, when we're mostly here because of Paul's originality and years of effort
Interesting to hear all this story around YC, hoping to be get accepted one day and being a part of YC backed startup journey. Also one interesting fact i can share, my grandfather worked in a nuclear business too, but it was less attached to business as it was during soviet union.

What a great couple
So good!
beautiful
I will apply to Ycombinator this week!
Good luck!
Great fan of paul❤
❤❤
I’m a female founder excited to apply but not this year bc i’m learning to code to build the product.
You should still apply, if only for the thought excersise and claritfy of thought.
hey good luck!
@@NilsWestgardh it's ok. i watched the whole startup school + lots of other YC vids and it's clear the odds aren't in my favor unless i'm technical or have a technical co-founder. i'm a solo founder and learning to build myself seems more likely then finding a compatible co-founder for the long run. they prefer a founding team although they do say the number 1 cause of startup failure is co-founder conflict. i wanna be good enough to stand on my own. thank you for your support tho 🙏🏼
@@minc33 thank you! 🙏🏼
This dude is fkn awesome
When was this interview? PG and Jessica are amazing

13:52 the voice of Paul hahaha 🤣
Didn't expect him to have an american accent lol
The Mount Olympus of modern Silicon Valley
15:02 finally someone says the truth out loud. I guess it took a woman to say that. Thank you. Women simply don't care about tech the way guys do. Why is that so hard to accept? Why does that need to somehow change? Why do we need to force tech down women's throats? Let them do what they enjoy. Jesus.
13:27 what the heeeeeeeeeeel
When paul cried, I cried. Get screened for colon cancer!
Yc great rehab
Two great people to talk to, but this was poorly cut together and Emily shouldn't keep answering the first part of questions for them
3:15 In 1980 he was coding on a machine from 1959.
Worth fact-checking, interesting story

All of the weird affectations indicate that yes to be successful you have to create your own persona a little bit, but sometimes if it goes to far off into the deep end I think it could even indicate potential delusional thinking.
