Lunar Landing Training Vehicle (1969)

The Lunar Landing Training Vehicle mounted a gimbaled jet engine face down to simulate the microgravity the Lunar Module would encounter during its descent to the Moon. This footage combines a 1969 government film with television news coverage of astronaut Neil Armstrong performing landing maneuvers at Houston's Ellington Air Force Base ahead of Apollo 11.
