  • Maintaining (or gaining) weight can be tricky for many pancreatic cancer patients. Dr. Douglas B. Evans is joined by dietitian Michele Derdzinski in this episode of Pancreas School with the LaBahn Pancreatic Cancer Program. Michele takes us through all your nutrition questions: What are pancreatic enzymes? How and when are they taken? What are the best nutrition tips for patients?

Not only tumour which is rare but also simple and very common thing like gallstones can also obstruct bile and pancreatic juice hence supplementation with ox bile along with PERT is very important. Also add sodium bicarbonate. Thank me now.

Doc, what about the impact of the whole process of the whipped surgery on the gut micro biome? My father in law has been through whipple and can’t maintain weight even with enzymes. My theory is between the surgery, chemo, radiation, and antibiotics this has destroyed his micro biome. His body is not processing food, it just runs right through him - he’s malnutritioned and now at a last resort and looking at TPN. My thought is to treat with a quality probiotic to build up the digestive tract - If anyone out there has tried this please let us know the outcome.

How to prevent this cancer? What should we avoid and what should we include in our diet to stay healthy?

Very odd that i didn't hear one essential nutrient mentioned during this entire video? Calories, OK, but even though we do need a relatively small number of calories (most modern humans get them through carbohydrates that is NOT an essential nutrient!), can get calories from meat and high quality fat. But why was there no mention of magnesium, Vitamin A, D, K2??? How about micronutrients like copper, zinc, and more? Over 80% od all americans are deficient in these nutrients and if you're trying to heal from ANY cancer you better get them in REAL food - not just shakes and smoothies!

Probably because there isn't a single answer and it's highly dependent on how treatment is progressing, amount of weight gained or lost, pre-existing conditions, etc? There are so many factors that come into play that it's difficult to distil. My mother started chemo five weeks ago and is now down to 82 pounds (her normal weight is 115). Her latest infusion had to be delayed due to dramatic weight loss. Her near-term remedy cannot be on tweaking micronutrients or discriminating between healthy foods and unhealthy ones, she just needs to gain weight through whatever means possible. If that involves more carbs and calorie-dense foods like fats, sweets, and processed, so be it. Take a good multivitamin to gain those missing nutrients and course correct later.

What if there's a machine type sensors like a plug in plug out to sterile instruments or probes surgically inserted and stitched immersed in body fluids or tissues of whatever type detecting receptors activation resultant of enzymatic caused reactions connected to a monitor with specific molecular reaction graph or chemical bond structures and it's branchings per time in real time interpreter of what was detected not just for the aid of diagnosis but also for molecular science analysis of disease preventions and treatments and enzymatic reactions in disease types and molecular behavior analysis in relation to drug levels half life and drug therapeutic levels and drug interactions shown in the computer image of atomic molecular behaviors, chemical bond structures readers, and if possible cell nucleus encodings reader per real time for cancer prognosis and beyond.

What if the modern progression of doctors is to deal with the microthings microorganisms in the microworld and their changes never before seen in our present instruments or space microorganism analysis as probable space causative organisms itself being tested and treated for what it may cause if it managed to get along with cosmic light showers or into the space modules as products of space mutation organisms in tandem with scientists experts in space lab stations.
