In the Church of God we still believe in a dynamic experiental sanctifaction that enables living a holy life. While there is often a "second blessing" of holiness we rarely speak of a "second definite work of grace" anymore. And I think most agree with me that the sin nature isn't "eradicated" but defeated.
I realized the late Donald Stamps was Assembly of God, he was also from a Nazerine background and had a unique grasp of this subject. His articles titled "Sanctifaction" and "Three Kinds of People" found in the Fire Bible (&Life in the Spirit Study Bible) are just about the best thing out there on doctrinal holiness and the notes in your Premier Study Bible are the best on practical holiness.

"In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)"
John 7:37‭-‬39 When you feel fountains of Living Waters bubbling up in your soul and flowing like a river, you can know you've received the Holy Spirit ❤
"Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation."
    Isaiah 12:2‭-‬3
Seek the Living Water and when you receive it, I guarantee you that a beautiful sound will come from your belly and out of your mouth. Don't seek speaking in tongues, seek the Living Water and the tongues will be the result of you being filled. It's such a glorious experience that you can't keep quite. When the Spirit of the Almighty God, Jesus Christ enters in, something happens and it's a witness to you and anyone who may be present with you ❤

Pastor, my aunt was Pentecostal and I received the holly spirit and spoke in tongues and was baptized in the name of Jesus when I was 14 in the church she attended. I went on with my life, moved to another city and didn't attend any church after high school. I have always felt the presence of God in my life but I am seeking him more now, after dealing with some obstacles in my life. I have tried to speak in tongues now, but I have not been able to. I have felt that voice guiding me through this difficult times, but I haven't been able to speak in tongues. I have attended different churches to strengthen my relationship with God, but I did not know much about denominations. My husband prayed the salvation prayer last night but did not speak in tongues like I did when I was baptized, which is why I started researching the different denominations. My question is, do you think I will speak in tongues again? I am praying for my husband to receive the holy spirit and for the Lord to guide me to the church where are meant to be.

Good morning pastor I am seeking the baptism of the Holy Spirit. How can I receive? I’ve prayed for it but haven’t gotten it. Should I fast to receive it?

You can. Call on Jesus, worship Him, after you have completely repented, and believe by faith. You should receive it. God bless you! Praying with you!

I am now more confused. I was just simply wondering what a Pentecostal is. Apparently the explanation is far too complex for comprehension.

We speak with tongues, and that is the sign we have received the Holy Spirit. I hope that simplified it! God bless!

Okay, I Love the Lord, I strongly believe the King James Bible and beg God for truth no matter where it leads. Why don't I speak in tongues? Something has to give.

I do believe speaking with tongues is for today. I have heard of experiences like yours.

Faith, repentance, are prerequisites. Then just keep seeking Jesus, it’ll happen my friend. Luke 11:5-13 is good in that regard. God bless you! Praying for you!
