A friend of mine has this one in black and its awesome! but beware, the suspention is stiff and you feel every crack in the road!
I love Steve's innocent and refreshing car reviews. "viable commuter for a person of the right mind-set" Perfectly said! Bravo ... Enthusiasts don't mind/want a "harsh" ride, the handling payoff is more than worth it! :)
True words. NEVER use automatic car washes. Great review Steve!.
This is how a sports car should be... talking about performance and handling rather than talking about amenities and comfort! You don't buy a car like this for comfort! Awesome review, Steve! (:
"Jerk car" ?.... Wtf?!?
Bad ass car. Just not enough car for the money. At that price it should have the 5.6 v8 from the Titan. Could you imagine a car with a wing like that snarling, crackling v8? That would be pretty heavenly.
I just imagined and dude holly shit it will be bad ass the Z on on a big nissan v8 tuning up to 4 to 5 some hp it could even take out the gt it will be great to see but sadly it will never happen but hell that is a bad ass idea
This car is so sick in person
I haved a red Nismo 370Z, best car I ever had. No matter where I go I always get stares and compliments from other drivers. Launch her at about 3800 RPM and you'll get into the hi 4's 0-60. If you do 5's you spun too much. It does put you in the seat under acceleration you may have a green engine. The interior is not dated and looks great compared to other sport cars. The best feature of the car is the handling. Coming from an 350Z, this Nismo clearly out handles it's older version.
I've had a white one since December. We're lucky in the UK as we get the full sat nav, Bose and reversing camera as standard. This is my third 370 and while the performance figures may not look much it's definitely a quicker and sharper ride than the standard 370. Looks are subjective of course but I think it's a stunning looking car and certainly gets lots of positive attention.
One of my best friends drives a 350z Nismo, and he is one of the nicest guys I know. Not sure if he's the exception, or if cars like this really do tend to have jerk drivers.
I have a 2015 370z Nismo. I am usually very patient in traffic, but if I spend enough time behind some slowpoke, I'll downshift 2-3 gears let the engine roar and get the fsck out of there. I also get frustrated when I encounter other cars on a certain stretch of road full of twists and turns on my way home - the speed limit's between 35 and 50 but I like to go ~60. Basically, traffic ruins all the fun in this car and will sour anyone's mood ;)
All that might make me appear like a jerk, but I'll happily talk to anyone who stops in traffic and asks about the car, even when they think it's a Porsche and I have to explain that it's a Nissan :P
starting at 0:40 he just described a typical Honda owner lol
Honda, BMW, Audi, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, all want to race their Jerk Cars at the sight of my Z. :)
you should see what heppens when I drive my NSX.. they come out of nowehre.
This is probably the sexiest car you can get for under 50 thosuand BRAND NEW imo.
I think the engine/exhaust sounds great. A 7400rpm redline is nice on a large displacement V6 too.
This is true. I am not sure about GT500's but i know Corvette sting-rays are already being marked up 15-20K. At 60k its a deal, at 80k not so much
I've read of similar numbers from other low-mileage examples. Maybe after it's broken in though 4.6 seems ambitious.
The red color in this Z Nismo looks sensational indeed...:)
It is indeed a wonderful track car. I have over 90 hours of track time on mine and it never disappoints. ;-) Nice review Steve.
I see this NISMO as an alternative to American muscle/pony car. Don't expect to see any Mustang, Camaro, or Challenger owners to switch to an import tuner.
I'd even consider the Hyundai Genesis Coupe with the V6 (base engine is a turbo inline-4) for its price point, maybe less.
It's going to be literally 3 weeks of staying up 24 hours a day watching car reviews next fall lol. Trading in the Lancer. Looking at Boss 302, Gt500, Vette Z06, Challenger srt8, ZL1, Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track , Evolution X GSR (shitty weather for RWD) , Audi TT RS, Cadillac CTS-V Coupe, nissan 370z nismo
I REALLY like the audi and the 370z BUT they just don't compare to the safeness of the ZL1. The ZL1 is about 4,000 pounds, low to the ground and thus will be very hard to do anything to. I have a friend that got into a major accident in his Camaro SS but he was still perfectly fine. The ZL1 is also faster than the audi and the 370z. It's gas mileage isn't nearly as good as the 370 but it sure as hell makes up for that in other ways. Also if you plan on using a car for the track.. mustangs just aren't good enough unless you purchase a shelby. If you watch reviews for the Boss 302 a constant problem with it is bad brakes and the fact that it jumps around a TON.
If I were you I'd decide between the ZL1 and 370Z. The ZL1 has faster times BUT if you're into drifting or lots of tight corners.. the 370 is probably for you.
thanks for input Skyler Gabriele
I love my Evo X, it's amazing and reacts so well to mods. I'd highly encourage you to check it out. Only downside is the trunk space and dated interior. I was in the same exact position as you and I went with the Evo. Sure it's not going to beat a ZL1 in a straight-line but if auto cross is more your fancy you'll be whoopin asses all day completely stock.
ksmuffin if theres any TT RS around my area when im ready to buy ill def go for one i think. They are just so damn rare to find on a lot, they didnt bring too many over to the states. The TT RS is like an Evo or an STI except +60 more stock horsepower , less weight, and more interior/exterior haha. but you do pay for what you get.
Skyler Gabriele you need to test drive each car you want before you buy it. Don;' listen to anyone on the internet especially youtube. Most opinions are bias in their own right. Go test drive each car, and i mean test drive, not drive around the block, drive the shit out of it. Review videos by credible reviewers are good, but you need to drive, one of them will let you know which car is for you.
Great review Steve!
Don't forget the C5 Corvette, particularly the Zo6.
Steve whats difference between the 09 z u tested and the nismo? Is there a major difference between the two?
18mpg city/26mpg highway on premium
Honest review, from a owner.
Omg this car is beautiful!! This is the car imma get next year. Everyone hates on it cuz of it faults! Like come one now its stock! Throw some after market parts and yur set. You can make this into 1000hp car. Like a greddy turbo system. Injen cold air. And hks legamax exhaust system. And all that other good stuff.
If it had paddle shifters then yes but for I like to drive my 2nd or 3rd car
$45k?
performance cars in that price bracket, you could easily get an sti, an evo x, an audi s4, a 335i, or 135i. the z is up against tough competition.
this z needs to be $10k cheaper.
Not even going to mention that you can get a track pack mustang gt and run laps around this car on any circuit.... for 15k less
It's cute, and I like the Z, but for the money I think you would be better off saving your pennies for a C7 corvette. Not that much more in price but you get a lot better everything.
I agree i like this car but honestly the interior needs to be updated badly
1. buy a manual
2. learn to drive it
3. your life is complete.
nah buy seriously my friend traded in his automatic for a STI manual with no previous manual driving training. he stalled a few times but got the hang of it within a couple of hours. just practice man.
Tell Your Sister She Better Move When She Sees Cars Like This, Cause We Live For Every Second Behind those 285 Width Rear tires
What was the fuel economy like Steve?
Wow $45k! You're less than $10k away from a decently equipped C7 Corvette... I guess your sister speaks from experience, and I don't doubt that statement at all.
2015 STI or this?
beautiful car. I prefer them over a american car in general.
The same price as a Q50?
this car in person is jaw dropping(grey).. Those rims, they're soo sexy!!!
Lets see...I can get a GT & add the bumper, a better exhaust & the same spoiler for much cheaper than the NISMO all together...hmmm
Luv the 370, the nismo variant is a waste of money. Ill take a touring model, modify it and stll for under 45k have it built the way I like with susp n engine mods and putting down 40 more hp than the nismo keeping it NA . Boom! What he said in the beginning is so true mine without the fancy body kit and stupid wing still gets boy in his momsv6 accord or basically everything my z can stomp easily tries to race me. I ignore 99% them.
Also no reason to get this car without the nismo package, i wouldnt want the base for 35k either
It's amazing how the 370Z has become a rare site in this gen. I see them no where anymore. I personally think this one looks better than the last 350Z. Minus the bat fangs in front. The NISMO model look fake and to me not worth that premium.
Paint looks mismatched on hood and front fascia... disappointing. Cool car otherwise, though. Prolly get a used 370Z without that obnoxious wing, and the bare NISMO nose or OEM replica for it (color-matched myself, thanks).
Learn manual from a family member or someone else, automatic is nowhere as fun as manual (except in traffic, Traffic + manual= rage) learning manual all depends on the person and practice. Hope ya make the right decision.
yes. a japanese POS is better. little 2 seat thing that can't fit a golf ball or a 2x2 monster thats faster than most ferrari's
The biggest jerks: Slow cars in the fast lane. I don't give a crap what you're driving.
i prefer my 370z 40th anniversary edition with the little mod that i have done. then this nismo.
I think the standard 370Z is VERY handsome. But the Nismo is too over the top!
I'd rather build an s14 or save up for a gt3
Jerk cars are BMWs and nissan Maximas here in Chicago.
sounds like a Porsche... really cool
Good thing everyone else is saying what im thinking, i thought i was the only one. When i was checking out some 370z nismos online, the brand new price is about 44k....REALLY!? , of course you can "TRY" to find a used one if you really want but for a car thats really not that overpowering with performance horsepower and not even a v8 engine, its pretty damn overpriced im sure alot of people would agree. Better off getting a turboed Evo X or a Mustang Boss 302 ....christ nissan
Go buy GT86 or BRZ it's much better my brother learned the hard way!
Nice looking car but that's a ridiculous price tag
It has a very ungainly, almost cartoonish appearance. But I can imagine going through tires at a very fast and expensive rate. But $47K for a Nissan with a bunch of aftermarket add-ons, nope.
the gt500 stars at $55,595...........
$45,180.00 WOW...... what happened to you nissan?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This high price places this car within spitting range of cars like BOSS 302, GT500, C7 Z51, 335i etc etc etc etc
I could see how for 30k this could be a good alternative but close to 50k?!!
maybe I am just cheap but I would never pay that much for a 350hp v6 when I can get a 450+hp car that handle as well or better.
I didnt realize I asked for your awesome life story
Looks beautiful but doesn't drive as well as what I would expect of a 45K car.
@NextSelection you get what you paid for (a drop-top Civic)
haban en ingles y poneis subtitulos en ingles ocupando media pantalla??? sois la ostia de listos
when did i say a new one?
A driver in a truck, SUV, or sedan, can cut people off and nobody calls those cars "Jerk" cars. If a sports car does it, then people call the car a "jerk car". Some women also assume that because a man drives a sports car, that he must be a jerk or self centered. In my case, that would be true - but not every male that drives a sports car is a jerk and besides, I am also seeing more and more females driving sports cars, specifically, the Z, the EVO, and the STI. Now what?? Jerk women??
us jerk guys have to stick it to the man! >:)
I drive a 370z and yes, I am a jerk.
Richie .Rich Funny, good one. A Z fan..that's good to see. I use to own a 350Z and I'm a jerk too and glad to be one at that!
John Vu 2013 370Z Nismo, and I too am a Jerk.
Sorry, jist the truth guys.
Francisco Huerta Welcome to the club.
that's if it's not marked up by a dealership.. ;)
Oh sure. This NISMO model feels more like a track car.
This car is nice...but about 200lbs overweight and about $10k - $12k overpriced.
So this is the Nissan Juke's sporty brother...
The Nissan Jerk
Focus RS is coming to blow stuff like this away.
100% agreed!
This needs a new refresh n weight loss
Not sure what to think about these cars...its ugly and its underpowered, but everything else about it is pretty much perfect
i am looking at a white one….
this will be my mid-life crisis car.
just get a regular Z. this one's too expensive
Great review as always but truth be told never been a fan of this car, both inside and out :( lol
Poor numbers for a nismo edition
perform
I wanted a nisno but goddam its overpriced i might just get a gt instead
i'm really surprised at the price point of these cars. Wonder how they are doing with sales of these new - or if they care about even selling this model. The only sporty Nissan worth owning is the GTR in my opinion - and before yelling at me a used GTR is semi-affordable next to this... this car appears to be an overpriced ricer.
Wow you sound naïve, misinformed or both. Ricer? Really. You should get the history on the Z car before you start spewing nonsense . I have a red Nismo and the car is worth every penny. How can a car that can hang within tenths of a second of an 100k Porsche Cayman be over priced.
I meant that the new Z cars are ricers next to the older ones. I'm not a fan of this new Z or a fan of Porsche :( I'm an old school v8 guy but I do appreciate the handling of the Z. What else about the Z can you tell me? Honestly I've been on the fence about buying one - used to be my dream car as a kid.
***** oh lol my bad dude
Did you know the Z is actually the number one selling sports car of all time? Mostly because it's a small low priced sports car but there are people who truly love the Z. Plus, until direct injection came out the Nissan V6 was considered one of the best, if not the best V6 made. That engine also made Wards Top Ten engines for about 15 straight years. Now, you have reasons to at least respect a Z. Drive one and feel how solid and well made that engine is.
get a Genesis Coupe, more powerful, faaar better looking and costs less...
STI > Nismo
Evo>Sti
Pill Overdose Prius> Evo :P
greatest .ever 370z Nismo > STI, Evo, n Prius
haha I just don't like turbo lag... fun as it can be. Wish it has a better oil cooler standard though...
Your sister is right
A jerk car is pretty much anything that is fun to drive.
my tuned 335i is still faster
$44k what a rip off for something like this I would rather save up more and get a gtr far better car than this pos
jerk cars are BMW's
Shifty car the 5.0 much better and much faster and sexy
0-60 low 5? lmao it could do 4.6 to 60
Japanese car
thats true. lol
It is a jerk car...but it is fun
Too expensive. I rather get a used S2000.
***** Really? Last time I check used S2000s go for 16-18K and used 370Z 21K and up.
I've owned a Toyota and Nissan, but never a Honda. Soon that might change.
+NextSelection for around 17k, you can get a z with around 40k miles. it's all about being patient. I'm picking up a black 2012 Z touring with sport package. Only 45k for a steal at 12,900
I heard these 370z's drive like shit....
jerk cars= ricers
interior is so horrible. and old.
It's an overpriced ricer
Sloooooow!
when did i say a new one?
