The weirdest thing we did in science class was watching a RUclips family channel dramatically film their house flooding, like their kids were crying and panicking and mopping up water and moving stuff upstairs while an adult just followed them around with a camera (not that a house flood is not a serious problem, but like family channels have to overplay everything and put it all on the internet which just makes it feel insincere…)

I remember I had a friend who liked these RUclips family channels. Her favourite was the Ace Family and when she showed me one of their clips I couldn't get into it.
I told her, it's the same as the Kardashians but more fake. You can tell they don't own anything. She called me a hater and broke off the friendship.
Come to find out, I was right that they were fake, and she sent me and off handed apology about tanking the friendship over an opinion that didn't coincide with hers.
@anniedee8136 tbh, it's a concern that they'd end the friendship over something like that. I had a similar experience where I had a friend who watched their channel, and I couldn't sit through it, and she didn't mind.
My friend likes them and I’ve now told her everything wrong about them and I’ve converted her!!! But in all seriousness this is vile behavior, I’m a baby sitter and children NEED privacy sure a toddler may need help to go to the bathroom but that’s normal and it’s very important to set a good example, these parents aren’t and it’s horrible parenting I can tell those kids are going to be insufferable in school and maybe even as a friend. Buh bye
How disgusting do you have to be to exploit your own flesh and blood for a profit? Let children be children. Let them be in control of their lives. Children cannot consent to anything, let alone being filmed for RUclips.
People who are having children out of obligation see them as means to the end; as if they owe their parents something for questionable honor of bringing them into the world.

One of the RUclipsrs I I watched when I was younger said: "Screaming equals laughter". He was talking about prank channels at the time. It's still the same, children hear loud noise, they either laugh or are entertained. They are kids, they can't tell it's not real. I don't like people that do their content like this.

I may not want children, but i respect them. I want them to protected, loved and cared for by responsible parents who don't exploit them. I'm very sensitive to children and all the matters concerning them and this is one of the biggest things I care about. They don't know enough to consent to this invasion of privacy and exploitation. Even if they are older, they will do this because they don't want to disappoint their parents or they're coerced. Whatever content is made will always have a place on this internet but to mention the strangers who pry into their lives. It's horrifying.

As soon as I had kids I deleted any followers I didn't know and set my account on private. There was just what I can best describe as a primal drive to keep my child safe. I wanted to share her with my friends and not creeps. The fact that people post their infants and children at their most vulnerable is wild to me.
I especially hate the arguement for why this type of content should be allowed to exist "It's digital scrapbooking!!" Then make it private??? If it was a physical scrapbook would you allow strangers to enter your home just to view it?

I have a young son and I don’t feel comfortable posting things he’s in. If he is, it’s usually the back of his head. I don’t show him on streams or anything. I just share his pics to a group text who cares. There’s so many bad people out there too sooo 😐

not only are they not banned, they get that sweet sweet premium ads turned on so they earn like so much more than regular channels.

Two of my kids had to have surgery at a relatively young age.
One at the age of 6 (after that, he had surgeries every year until he was 9 years old) and the other had his surgery at the age of 3.
Even though it was never a life threatening situation, I was always worried out of my mind and seeing them in their bed, shivering because they were waking up from the anesthesia, always broke my heart.
Having someone, shoving a camera in my face to exploit it, would make me probably commit a crime.
How can they do this to their kids!?

Before RUclips was a thing there was a family that broadcasted themselves 24/7 on their own website. And I do mean 24/7. They had security cameras all over their house that anyone could watch. They too went to jail for child abuse. They didn't abuse their kids in any other way. The court ruled the broadcasting itself was abuse.

check out the norris nuts, the dad literally killed their puppy by accidentally stepping on it (?!?) and they posted so many videos exploiting that situation, plus exploiting all their kids and their medical conditions. Its very concerning because they have like 7 kids and some are like 19 and still act like children😭. They're also all called weird names like 'sockie', 'biggie' and 'disco'
