Good video. Its good to see you youngsters keeping the air flame alive. I learned all this back 35 years ago as a sign maker. We had to make our own templates, but the process is the same. Good work.
THANK YOU! For so many years I have admired Airbrush Art. I have spent most of my life around Motorcycle clubs and the like and seen some fantastic artwork on lots of bikes. So I looked it up recently on here. Then I came across you guys. You have inspired me to have a go. Working on a budget I have got myself a couple of.......Mediocre air brushes. I just need to get myself some decent paint and thinners/reducer. I have maybe left it a bit late in life? But I'm ready and willing anyway. I just wanted to say what I have said and let you know how much I appreciate the tutorials You upload. With that, I send you my best regards and wish you well for the future. All the best. Vini.
Hi Vini, thank you so much for your comment and kind words I am glad that you find our tutorials helpful and it’s never too late to begin your airbrushing journey, I am extremely humbled that we can be a small part of your inspiration to get started. All the very best 🙏🏻👌🏻
I like the way you start from the beginning with even the most minute detail. Helps us beginners. It would help what type of paint. Not brand but type. Illustrative ,detail or what. What sealer at end? Gloss , satin or ??
Hi Robert thanks for your comment and yes, I will take your feedback on board. The type of paint that I used for this is waterbased colours by Trident, thinned slightly with their reducer then sealed with a 2 pack clear. Cheers appreciate your comments and glad you enjoy the videos and find them helpful. 👍🏼+Robert Butler
Good stuff! A word to the beginner, it's not required (for this kind of work anyway) to have a $600 airbrush, any brush that can spray a fine line will do it. My favorite is my badger 175, witch I'v had for nearly 30 years, and you can pick up for around $100 or less.
Thanks for your comment and yes, any brush used correctly can achieve fine detail I recommend certain brushes to students however it really comes down to what you get used to and what is comfortable in your hand 👍🏻
It’s been a while since this video so I think from memory I was just carefully moving the template and I could see the previous rivet underneath…generally I use something that can help to line them up ie..I may place a mark on the masking tape which I use to protect the overspray or I look for a mark on the template to use to line up my rivets . Hope that helps 👍🏻🙏🏻
Love the video. One more step that I would suggest, cover the rivets with a positive circle before spraying the second shadows... that way they will not have any overspray on them... Great teaching! Love to watch the videos...
I always find the white paper towels here in the states leave small hairs from time to time. I switched to the blue "shop towels" as they are called in the states and am lint free.
Wow that is so cool I hope I can do something that cool looking. I'm going to try it on my small metal tool box it's a really oldtool box so the paint is not going to hurt it none. I'll just keep practicing on the tool box until I can do it on something better that I care about.
@@AirbrushAsylum can you recommend what kind of paint to use for metal? I have shirt paints that came with the air brush set up. Every thing I got is brand new still in the packages a Gal brought me the air brush set up. 3 diffrent air brushes came with the kit. ONE SHOT paint?
SNOOP U 2 I use Trident airbrush paint which you can get shipped overseas from DNA paint : dna-paints.com Otherwise I also like using Createx illustration Colors . Hope that helps 👍🏻
I use Trident airbrush colours which you can safely clearcoat over, you can also get Createx colors or use house of Kolor urethanes if you don’t want to use waterbased all are safe to either acrylic or two pack clear. Hope that helps 👍🏻
hey i just got an iwata eclipse second hand should it be capable of this level of small detail? so far its not impressive and i was considering getting a new needle
On the first river the white shading on the upper part of the rivet show the light source from above so the white shadow should be on the top and the dark shadow should be on the bottom.
Thanks for your comment and yes usually that would be the case , but these rivets are intended to look as though they are pressed into the metal therefore the highlight and shadows are reversed. Cheers 👍🏼
Hi jest wondering is there a way to achieve this affect if you were spraying a clear lexan rc car body from the inside meaning everything would be done in reverse . Dont think it would work spraying it from the outside because it would get scratched up veary easily in use . I love this affect but dont know if it could be done from the inside of a clear body shell .any advice on spraying on a clear background in reverse would be greatly received
Hi there thanks for your comment and yes, you are correct you would need to basically start with highlights and work backwards from there. Hope that helps 👌🏻
my driver has silver an black so i think i should use the white to high light on the black an the black to high light on the silver to get a better effect like this what i am thinking anyway....Yes i was thinking of doing my new Taylormade M5 driver like this so i know exact were sweet spot is Plus give it the rivet look i think will be awesome custom effect
im no artist but with stencils i can make things look good with airbrush i made custom fishing lures so i know how its done just never tried to paint nothing else but im sure its the same..i did custom my new putter with Two balls like the callaway design i bought different name putter but im going to paint mini skulls inside the balls call it the reaper since im making my friends reap paying me hahahahhahahhaa
Hi I'm painting my tool box in a very bright straight green and I want to do airbrushed rivets over it what colour would I use is black and white still ok ?
Hi there thanks for your comment and yes, that colouring will work fine as long as your base is not too dark you can do the metal plate effect over any ground coat. 👍🏼+Chris Ashford
If you want a great compressor which can really handle a variety of airbrushing applications then check out the following ; ruclips.net/video/YAfj2qjizKQ/видео.html It’s also the compressor we use in our classes 👍🏻
Extra tip... if you are going to go through all the trouble to clean the panel, use some nitrile gloves so you don't contaminate the freshly cleaned surface with your greasy fingers.
Absolutely beautiful. I am so jealous of artists. I can't draw. I can't paint. Heck, I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler. I'm sure that's why I envy those who can. I've been trying to find airbrushing videos that show someone airbrushing something out of an actual photo. Everyone's heard someone say, "Oh...I love that photo of me and Tina at the cabin. Ugh...I wish I could have someone airbrush her jerk ex-boyfriend Mark out of this photo so it's just me & my sis"...I'm sure you know what I mean. Unfortunately, everything is Photoshop and I'm looking for a video showing someone doing complex photo retouching the old fashioned way, by hand! If anyone can help I would be most appreciative. Thanks!
Thanks for your comment and glad you enjoyed the video, not sure where to look for photo retouching, I know photo realism artwork is very popular but it’s not the same thing. I am sure there should be some videos on this subject, good luck with the search 👍🏼
Thanks for your comment, generally depending on what I am airbrushing my psi is set at 20-25psi for detail and 30-40 for larger scale Airbrushing. Hope that helps 👍🏼+Armer
wondering something .. you clean and clean .. oh and do some more cleaning .. all this WITHOUT freaking gloves on :-s .. why not wear gloves and voila no more fatty acids on the boarders etc
firstly great video :) when using multiple colors and airbrushes, how long does the paint last in the cups? meaning how much working time do you have? also with the intercoat clear are you using airbrush for it also or a can?
It depends how much paint you have left in your cup and whether or not your cup has a lid ...I have left paint in the cup overnight (which I don’t recommend) but generally you can leave for most of the day which also depends on the climate. I mainly use intercoat clear in my airbrush or mini spraygun 👍🏼

That dent effect you put around the rivet by reversing the shading is amazing looking. I love it
Thanks much appreciated.
Wow Great Job I'm definitely going to start practicing this!

Yes, true but I always use a tack rag before painting to make sure to remove any stray fluff and or dust 👍🏼

Can we use grey primer for aluminium, plastic?
You could for aluminium , if necessary... I would use a plastic primer for plastic 👍🏼
Muito bom....vc vende stenci?
If you are asking re the stencil shown it’s by Artool , it’s the circle FX by Ryno Templeton hope that helps 👍🏻
hi,im about to buy a starter kit for using only painting detail, what needle do u prefer sir?
i mean what mm is it
As for a starter airbrush I would say either a 0.3mm or a 0.35mm hope that helps 👍🏼

what brushes did you (are you) using .
I would need to re-watch the vid but more than likely I would have used my iwata micron cmc+ and possibly my eclipse, hope that helps 👍🏼
can i use silver for background?
Yes you most certainly can, it will actually make it pop even more.
Tranks for! Exect my necessaire .
Iou possued Kombi VW 97.
I thought it looked better with less detail.if he had stopped right after the rivets it would have been perfect.
