I have both CCA C10 and 12. The 10 here sounds diff from your sample to my listening. Its like TFZ T2 but less bass. I have all 3. C12 has the best separation of the instruments and vocals --highly recommended for long music listening.
C12 is the clear winner here. I have this iem and it is very good in almost all genres, but i still prefer the moondrop ssp because of much controlled sibilance. I love moondrop ssp diffused neutral signature tuning.
I went in blind while I was ordering my first IEM online last night (impulsive Buy + I really wanted an Upgrade), just purely looking at budget and how much I wanted to spent, I chose C12 after 2 hours. Now, anxiety kicks after I realized that I should have done some research and comparison before purchasing one (Kind of a huge Upgrade from whatever I'm using), thinking I might bought the wrong IEM, and it's my first Purchase. I landed on this video after 3 hours of looking at other brands, sister company, the KZ, SHURE and etc. When this video first started, my ears told me, B and D is out, a bit too much on the treble, would love some low end in my listening experience. And I concluded : - I like E for the low end, Bassy with a huge stage feeling to it. - Love A for clarity, Stage feel, Punchy Bass, overall balanced. - C was kind of in between, less bass compared to E, and not as pronounced treble as A. in my case pretty much feels like a good pair for my personal music listening experience. Just got my CCA CKX today. Coming from someone who owned the CCA C10 I and also a heavy gigging musician, these ears sound phenomenal listening to music and also when I plugged into my amp head for a silent practice. I will see how they sound Sunday after facing all live instrumentation.
Listening on my C12s, and I knew I made the right choice. With them EQ'd, tips & cable replaced (16 core + no mic, up'd quality) I think I'll be happy for some time to come, till my next upgrade for sure.
That sounds great, I’m waiting for my C12, any day now they’ll be arriving, good to hear you are happy with them. My current favourite ain’t my iems (all of which are hybrids) is TRN ST1.
@@Dani-bq2cm Yinyoo cables are the best from what I've heard. Unfortunately, they're currently unavailable in my region, so I 'settled' for TRN T2's (16 core, type C in black). They're great for the price, and much softer than the previous generation. Cables are a tertiary concern though, the IEM is primary, tips come next (I'd recommend silicone over foam for KZ/CCA as a daily driver, zpolt has a video on this), and finally your cable. Make sure it's a cable with good material choice for the contact/core (copper + silver plated), with either 8 or 16 core count and NO MIC. The mic piece can reduce the quality of your audio experience. Amazon, AliExpress, Lazada (careful of generic rebrands on ALL platforms)
I might want to buy C12 too. But, the budget is worth two recommended IEMs (by Zpolt) tho. They are KBEAR KS2 and KZ DQ6. Do you have any experience on those two?
@@wanaboed unfortunately no, I'm not familiar with either of their sounds, however, at this price range most brands are packing the same hardware. My advice, focus on what their implementation of that hardware is! What do you want out of your hardware, is the question. I'm using my C12s as a way of conditioning me to a more balanced listening experience, so my next upgrade can be a more professional choice! My first pair of IEMs were they KZ ZSN pros, so I got used to that very influenced/manipulated sound. It's fun to listen to, but very fatiguing! Best way to do this, is to go through listening test videos of each of the pieces, and see what people think. Zpolt is fantastic with his commentary/options, I trusted what he says about C10s and C12s, I'm happy as can be! Example: I got C12s as I wanted to move away from the basshead 'KZ sound', even though they're sister companies, Clear Concept has evidently decided to do their own thing. Still V shaped curve like KZ, but a lot more of a balanced listening experience with stronger mids than the former. Their design philosophy is also clearly much more minimalistic, I don't want to be wearing a power-ranger in my ears after all.
For me the C12 and CA16 are the clear winners(Edit: I only count the CA16 if they sound like they do in another video here and not this video). The C10 sounds good too but sounds seems a bit thin at times. I got the C12 since it was on sale for $32 and couldn't be happier. KZ had me worried since I wasn't a fan of their treble that much so I did want to gamble on the CA16 but after getting the C12 and now hearing the CA16 comparison here I see it has a very similar presentation. I am going to have to grab a pair. Idk if I am crazy or not but I may actually prefer the C12 to my Westone w40's. The C12 doesn't seem technically as good but the tuning is so well balanced allowing for enough detail without even approaching anything fatiguing.
What's happening with B? The balance is all messed up lol. Anyway in my country CKX is $66, C10 is $23, C12 is $30, CS16 is $100, and CA16 is $59. For the price, c12 and c10 are really really good. CA16 is warm and a bit boomy. I was a bit confused with CKX though since it was right next to the unbalanced CS16 making it hard to judge. Pretty happy with my BL03 right now. If I do want to upgrade, I would rather move up to the likes of Aria or T4 rather than CCA.
I loved the CA16 and CKX shimmer on the highs, detailed mids (where the CA12 is a possible contender based on what I had hear on this test) and how clean the sound was but I am leaning to CA16 on this test as the sound stage felt little more wider but it close in my opinion compared to the CKX
I know it hard to believe me but I liked the A the most, and since I already have c12 (second best sharing with c16) I guessed it was the ckx an I'm glad I did since they coming my way in a couple of days. Thanks for the test.
