20 years ago !!! I love this music video, kudos to Sam Obernik for being able to competently cover Stevie Nicks, also she has an absolutely smoking hot body, and the obvious chemistry with the lead actor make for a great video
OMG! I was in this video lol. Memories! At 2.53 when he does the slide, they had to pull him on a piece of carpet as his trousers had ripped due to slide across the floor x
I've loved this song since it first came out. I heard it on a random alternate radio channel and I've been in love every since! I don't know what it is but I don't think I'll ever get sick of it.
The 80s atmosphere that emanates from this incredible clip is so genuine that I can't believe this isn't recorded in 1984. Also, I need to know the story behind this scene so badly. The guy acting and dancing absolutely fits the music, the story and the ambience. He absolutely nails it. The singer is also gorgeous, the voice and her moves. Really sexy and great acting. In short: wildly underrated, both music and videoclip.
@@fedr39 just heard the original she absolutely murdered her own song it sounds like she cannot sing really painful to listen to...obernik did an outstanding clean up of the tune this soudn smuch better
ruclips.net/video/_-1zU9jae5w/видео.html they essentially re-create the music video live on stage on the british tv music show "top of the pops" ! its awesome !
@robevans5507 It is impossible to murder her own song. that is the song as intended. it was also 1983. the drugs were better back then. 😅 stevie has always had a unique sound that isn't everyone's cup of tea. taking nothing away from this version though. I did search it up because I think it's a cracking cover. pops into my head a couple of times a year. I'll be back soon ❤
+Dan Kerr Yes and I agree with you. Ministry of Sound used to be my favorite and they used to release a lot of trance releases I loved very much, but not anymore. All you'll hear them playing now is just strictly electro-house and big room crap, and I don't go to clubs anymore because of it (their nightclub in London still exists, but has since been diversified into a multimedia entertainment business).
It blew my mind when I found out this was a cover of a Stevie Nicks song from the 80s! This version was one of my favourite tracks of the 00s. In recent years I've become a huge Fleetwood Mac / Stevie Nicks fan, but I have to admit I do much prefer this version. It releases the genius of the original track. I'm gutted it's not on Amazon Music!

This is better than the original. Memories for me of starting university and being disoriented and heartbroken but eventually still hopeful. Who directed and shot the music video?
Ministry of Sound shills heard "The Jamie Starr Scenario (Felix da Housecat) - Welcome 2 Thee Lite" in late 2002, saw how fire it was and asked someone to redo it with vocals asap. That's 100% what happened. They did the same thing with Call On Me.
I was Kabul, Afg a few weeks ago in a run down bar for ex-pats and this song came on the radio and I had to find it and listen to it again. Looks like the Afghans know how to rock. BTW, Sam Obernik cannot dance at all, but when your that hot you don't need to.
Growing up with the Stevie Nicks version I always thought that was a good song. This remix and Sam's voice blow the original out of the water. I love it.
Omg this song was my fav tune in the clubs in the summer of 98 got soo many memories of me clearing up the dance floors in the clubs copying the dance floors.
This cover version was released in 2003 not in 1998. So you couldn't have heard this specific version at that time. You might've heard an actual dance remix of the original with Stevie Nicks (or just the original itself). However, unless you have a time machine, jumped ahead to 2003, stole this version, went back to 1998 and had it played at a club ...you didn't hear this one. Sorry.
