Have you read Einstein's Theory of Relativity? If you say that two things happened at the same time, to us that's a normal statement, but he says that statement doesn't make sense, unless you specify WITH RESPECT TO WHOM! According to Einstein, two lightnings can hit the ground simultaneously with respect to YOU, but with respect to ME, one of the lightnings struck first. This is not a joke, you can read it in his section 8. You say my drag is too low, but you assume that your opinion of low and high is objective reality, but it is not. It is just your opinion. And let me quote another smart man, to end this post: The problem with opinions is that Every Body has one. (Martin Armstrong)
@@ifishcatfish There are some very small Ice Fishing Plastics out there. Have you seen the video World's Smallest Texas Rig by Tackle Advisors? I make some similar rigs up for myself and friends.
Let me apologize first for what’s going to be a long comment. I haven’t got a lot of experience with ultralight fishing but I wanted to share my experience with the Shimano Ultegra and the rod I paired it with. I mainly do saltwater fishing here in Oman. (A country most people don’t know exists) In fact, the only freshwater fishing we have here is off tilapia, which is an invasive species found in fresh water in some of the valleys. I decided I wanted to get into ultralight fishing but needed a travel setup that I can carry with me when I travel for work. The options here are limited but with some online research I discovered the Shimano STC series which consists of a range of travel rods including multi-piece and telescopic rods. As it is, I’ve always been skeptical about the durability and performance travel rods, let alone telescopic rods. I just don’t have the courage to spend money and find out if I’m wrong to doubt them so I went with the 5 piece rod with a 6th piece that replaces another to extend the length. This was only sold in Europe as far as I could tell and I suspect it was mainly designed for freshwater use but I took my chances. The model number was STCSPIN2427L. After doing plenty more research and obsessively watching your videos I came to find that the best reel for me was the ultegra c2000s which i spooled with a 14lb floricarbon line. Yes, I realise this line is considered light and not ultralight by many but if you fish in Oman you wouldn't wanna go any lighter than that because you truly can't predict what you'd end up hooking on to. Anyway, One of my first experiences with this setup was in the south of Oman in an area mainly known for larger fish. On that trip I wasn't so lucky with the heavier setup but when I went to my new (arguably) ultralight setup I landed close to 20 fish among them several false albacores, bluefish, trevallys, darts and a spangled emperor. Most of the catches weighed around 2lb to 2.5lb. The reel handled it all beautifully, the drag handled the fights well, the sound of the drag was music to my ears, and the retrieve was smooth and effortless. Everything about the reel felt perfect. There was only one fish that almost spooled me and ended up cutting the leader, but there was an element of human error in that fight and I'm sure an angler with better skills could have landed it. The rod was also an excellent performer and felt perfectly balanced with the reel. It casts well, bends well and is soft enough to give the lures freedom to dance without sacrificing casting distance. The best catch on this setup was an approximately 15" long Bream weighing about 6.5lb. This was caught about 3 weeks back. I'm not sure if this setup is ideal for fresh water fish but i did find it to be a great setup for saltwater fishing. However, there are lighter versions of this rod that might be more appealing to you. Thank you for helping pick the perfect reel and for making such great content.
that sounds great. How is the line lay of 14 lb mono on 2000S spool? 14 lb braid would be fine, if that's what u mean, but 14 lb mono or fluorocarbon will affect the line lay. The oscillation worm moves the spool up and down with speed that allows the rotor to spin X number of times around the spool. And the height of the spool is designed to fit X number of coils of line, with the recommended diameter. When u put much thicker line, then X number of coils no longer fit from side to side, and you end up with bunched up line both on top and bottom of the spool. That reel has absolutely dead flat line lay when spooled properly. Just something to keep in mind, in case you want to challenge yourself and go thinner. It will dramatically improve casting as well! And sensitivity. If you were talking about braind, again, - you are alright. But if mono... i recommend taking another journey down to thinner line
@@ifishcatfish you’re absolutely right I accidentally typed fluorocarbon when I intended to say was braid. It’s a P.E0.6 YGK. I only use fluorocarbon as a leader which is in this case a 16lb sunline.

hi. howd you compare the soare bb c2000ssp with the ultegra c2000s. i prefer the colors of the ultegra but soare seems like an ajing and more finessed focused reel.
Thats fluorocarbon leader. They can definitely see the snap but it looks like a part of the lure maybe. If you have moving lure its definitely not a problem. Under a float and suspended i wouldnt use such big snap but i still use snaps even with float. They are just much smaller
