Added the rear IKEA Symfonisk to my beam.
Music apps the surrounds work perfect but when I go to tv only the beam plays the tv sound. Any ideas?

I have seround set up arc,sub,era 100 connectet wi Fi,my question is
Sometimes I want to turn on the rear speakers only to listen to music, but when I try to turn on the rear only, it asks me to turn off the surround system and connect separately to the Era 100 speakers for stereo sound. How is it possible sometimes on only the rear era 100 speakers whitch out disconnect seround set up thanks
Unfortunately, once the speakers are joined into the surround setup you can no longer manager playing music to individual speakers. You have it as a single group, or as all individual components.
Note, when you create a surround sound group, in it's settings you can choose how the rear speakers in that surround setup handle music. You can have the rear speakers play at full volume or in an ambient sound mode.
Note: era 100 does not support dolby atmos... 300 does...
Why would you not recommend using the s5 in the setup? Just curious
Do you mean the play 5s? They are overkill for surround speakers. Surrounds don’t need to be too fancy; the audio they provide is environmental mostly and doesn’t have the same power or clarity requirements

This is not 5.1 surround. That would be 5 speakers and a sub. This is 3.1 surround
There actually is a Sonos sub in the setup; I already had the sub added to the playbar. Probably should have shown adding the sub to the playbar for completeness. That said, this is a 5.1 setup as the playbar has discrete Left, Center and Right Channels in the soundbar format (most soundbars do). It does produce 3 channels of audio, and is referred to as full 5.1 on both sonos promotional materials as well as 3rd party reviews, etc.
