When You're Smiling- Bass Saxophone Gathering 2022

Ten bass saxophones and two contrabass saxophones played John Wernega's arrangement of "When You're Smiling" on April 23, 2022 at Ferko String Band's clubhouse in Philadelphia. This was our first gathering, and we plan on having more in the future. Players traveled up to seven hours to play in the gathering.

Is the instrument in the center at 0:47 with a very long bell, a bass with a low A key?

hi. that is a "compact wrap" contrabass by the Brazilian maker "J'elle Stainer". NONE of the saxes had low A keys that day. I thought you were referring to the one on the right, which is simply a very long saxophone; a standard wrap contrabass, to be exact.
