I'm a Bari Sax player in my High school band and I've always wanted to make the step up to Bass Sax but we don't have one lol.. just a dream of mine to at least get a chance to play one. It's got that deep woodwind sound that me and my band director love so much and he's tried his hardest to at least get one for a single concert for me to play, but they are hard to get and a lot of money just to rent one that's going to be messed up and dinged up and be messed up
I currently play tenor sax in my high school band and I keep asking my band teacher to get this 'dream instrument' the bass saxophone so I can be the first in my schools history to play this amazing instrument. I hope someday I will be able to play it. One day I want to see this band for myself. Here I come Seattle :D
@funkchef the group is called Uptown Lowdown Jazz band , based our of the pacific northwest. Paul Woltz John Goodman and I can't remember the third gents name.
Thanks, RUclips algorithm! As a prior sax player (who wants to get back into playing the sax... AGAIN!), this warms my heart. I'd like a bass sax, but I predominantly played tenor. Instruments are hella expensive, so maybe in the future I could not only nab a tenor, but also a bass.
It's refreshing to hear someone play the bass sax and NOT constantly tongue-slap the heck out of the reed.
I love the sound my tenor makes on a low Bb tongue slap
Amazing song. I’ve always loved the lower side of the saxophone family
The bass sax specifically has such a lovely timbre compared to the higher members of the saxophone family.
I am a tenor player but listening to this is beyond magnificent
7 years later and this is still fire
Now 10 years later and it’s still fire
Music doesn’t expire

I assume you don't play in your high school band anymore but the Thomann TBB-150 is only $2800 refurbished.
@@ajhauter5049I hope they don’t play in their highschool band anymore
All i want to want to do before i kick the bucket is to get one and play it for the rest of my life lol.
I played bass sax over 40 years
@@cornelallen8978i got to play one at a music conference i went to recently and it was so swag
Fantastic! Don't understand how ANYONE could 'dislike' this ... They are having so much fun playing this - and it made me have fun listening to it :)
Those bass saxes really kick ass (rhymes with sax)!
Many times I had the opportunity to work the same festivals with these gent... they never once miss a step on those wonderful beasts.
What are their names?

Браво, деды! Джазовая душа не стареет! Я тоже такой.
I wish I could hear these guys every weekend. Awesome!
Isn't this the definition of the passion of being a musician
Ughhh this makes me want a bass sax so badly 😭 they are having so much fun!
Videos like this are the reason that I spend more money buying saxophones to add to my collection than on food or clothes for myself.
I'm trying to be like you. Lol. Would love to get 1 of these
I have two Bass Saxophones. If you were around the Houston area, I'd let you borrow one of mine!
I'm in the market for one. If you're interested in selling let me know!

Hello, I've been playing the bass sax for a while and I have an old Ton King. Has a good tone but needs a lot of air.
Struttin' with Some Bass Sax.
So if I just buy a bass sax, I’ll start playing melodically and tastefully? Right?
Great stuff. Bass never got respect 'til now 😒😉😃
Who are the musicians in this video? Very entertaining.
Time to buy a Sakkusu...
