  • The Coal Authority produce thousands of tonnes of hydro ferric oxide, which is also known as ochre, every year.
This material is ideal for use in ground remediation projects to immobilise contaminants - such as arsenic, lead and cadmium.
Our ochre has already been used successfully in land remediation projects - and we’re always looking to be involved in future developments.
It can also act as a replacement for ferric sulphate in waste water treatment and it can even be used as an iron oxide pigment.

Curious if there's a chemical or substance that when put in contact with iron ochre will react with it and neutralize or dissolve it?
