Not true. I think he had an affiliation with Toyota which was where he sourced most of his parts from. The v12 was from a Toyota century among many other parts. Not discrediting smokey at all but he had lots of help.

It's like how big automotive youtubers sent their cars off to pro shops to get certain things done like paint or engine stuff or even get bespoke suspension to fit their use case.
