Surprising to not see King Kong, King Krunch, Clydesdale or Leadfoot in this race.

Would've been neat to see a '88 bodied Michigan Ice Monster.

If USA-1 could not make it to the finals, why was he awarded the points? And even so, wouldn't Bigfoot have been awarded points for being the runner up in the finals?

It had to do with the points lead USA-1 already had over Bigfoot and Awesome Kong. Points were awarded for every race in a night. The points USA-1 already had over Bigfoot meant that by beating Bigfoot in the semi-finals race, even if Bigfoot beat Awesome Kong in the last race, he would have been a point or two short of winning the national championship. Likewise even though Awesome Kong was third place in the championship, he was far enough back in total points that winning this series still didn't give him enough points to even take second place from Bigfoot, let alone first from USA-1.
Even if Bigfoot had beaten USA-1 in the race, he still might've had to beat Awesome Kong in order to get enough points to pass USA-1 in total points.
