Agreed, I'm going to buy tank for daughter when she graduates from law school. She could not give a flip that it is quartz. Only watch nerds (like me-care).
Go back and read up on Cartier watches - you're approaching this subject video too harshly. I Absolutely DO NOT agree with your critique of Cartier quartz. There are a lot of high-end Cartier pieces, well over a $10K (+) range have a quartz movements. As far as Cartier using proven ETA movements, other lux watch brands use Selita movements in their watches such as Hublot and Panerai.
The Santos Dumont XL, Tank XL, Américaine, and Tank Française large all contain mechanical movements. As the XL indicates, they are very large and not suited for most wrists. The Tank Must large has the same size as the Tank Louis and is therefore the best choice. Yes it’s quartz, but if you can’t buy the gold model, it’s still a good option.
It started wrong, the Dumont XL is a hand wound movement. Seriously, a little research goes a long way specially when you are trying so hard to trash Cartier.
My Tank Must XL has a very accurate mechanical automatic movement. The dial has guilloche, blued hands, features you would have to pay $10K to obtain. My watch came with a robust steel wrist band that lend it a masculine allure. Though I prefer automatic movement, quartz is quite acceptable and doesn’t diminish its prestige.
I disagree with your assessment on quartz, patek, AP, FP Journe, Omega, Rolex and many others have quartz models!!!!! I own four Cartiers and one is a Tank L quartz which cost me $2700.00 in 2021….. its a timeless classic two hander. I have worn mine at work and for dress but I also have a santos dumont 18k XL which is an outstanding dress watch and a automatic. The movements in my three automatic Cartier’s are not special but they are solid. My favorite watch is my Santos black gray dial……. I also like my globemaster AC alot
You're incredibly out of touch. Just say don't buy there quartz watches. Also women prefer quartz watches on the whole which is why Cartier is the number 1 woman's brand in the world. Nobody buys a Cartier for the movement prowess unless you start getting into their Haute horology.
Normally I'd agree re: Quartz. Except my own experience has forced me to reevaluate. I've owned a 1991 Cartier Santo Gablee quartz (the 29mm model) from new. That's nearly 35 years! I've been both broke and flush several times over during that time. But always had the pleasure of the Santos on my wrist. Why? Because in total it has cost me only the battery changes (at non-cartier jewellers) about 12 times in 35 years or about $250 total. Just imagine what Cartier would have taken out of me had I opted for the mechanical model and needed around 6 services during the same time span. I got a quote from them at the time of the first battery change and they gave me an estimate. It came to a third of the purchase price of the watch, as it would have included new seals and what-not! Well I never looked back. And just for your info: I have my own watch brand now, using Swiss automatic movements. But will always give quartz a fair hearing, after all, if my Cartier had been mechanical, I probably would not still have it due to the cost of ownership.
and then you show a Tank XL that says "Automatic" right. On. The. Dial... and call it Quartz.... just stopped watching
Cartier uses a good quartz movement. If you don’t like quartz watches, don’t buy them.
Just his opinion

Oh... and FPJourne makes quartz watches that are exponentially more expensive than Cartier...

Buying a Cartier with a battery is like ordering a filet mignon and getting White Castle.

Santos Dumont XL is hand wound Caliber 430MC
Cartier quartz fanboys are in their feelings because you've pointed out their idiotic purchase decisions. Earned a subscribe in my book.
love the style, just subscribed! :D
The quartz models are much more durable and reliable - and cheaper too.
3:14 uh… sir? I think that one says AUTOMATIC on the dial. Thank you. I rest my case. Thank you.
I love the Drive and could you be more specific what is the problem with its movement, I intend to buy one someday?
Cartier WSSA0085 is size large not size XL.
Totally disagree. Cartier is principally a jeweler. And, their watches mechanical or quartz are wonderful watches.

My friend, you don’t know what you are talking about. The Cartier Tank Must XL is a mechanical watch. Not a quartz one. Please check.
It’s wrong to say it. Taist differ
Sold and gave away my mechanical auto watches..🥴 instead got quartz for the accuracy & reliabilty☺️
There's no Tank XL quartz.
Silly Santos argument in the absence of a second hand.
You're talking about a Tank Quartz yet showing a Tank Must XL that says "Automatic" on the dial. Lazy...go back and get it right
Gracias amigo
Many of your “better options” are ugly compared with the Cartiers.

I do agree, my Cartier Roadster was been service 3 times at 600 dollars a pop while my cartier tank quart in yellow gold only needs battery change.
