Spot changes so quickly that % makes perfect sense in this business. Every phone and computer for the last 30+ years comes equipped with a calculator. 🤷♂️
Stating premiums in dollar amounts verses percentages seems rather counterintuitive, considering ever-fluctuating spot prices. My take as an outsider is a net negative for you, having to explain to subsequent callers for example who are focused on $105 that the amount was applicable to 'this morning' or 'yesterday' only. And heck, calculating spot times percentage takes 10 seconds. Just my two cents.
Changing it from percentage to dollar amount it help us determine if we want to buy them immediately instead of waiting later to figure out how much it would be to buy it. It saves us a step in not having to do the math.

as a stacker i prefer percentage but i think dollar amount does make it easier for anyone new. But the best is when it is offered at spot!

Spot and Melt conversion is essentially the same. Spot is the price per ounce. Melt is just the price calculated per coin based on Spot. So a 1 oz coin = 1 oz melt. A 0.2354 net oz coin = .2354 oz melt.

you would never pay spot for a sovereign, but you would pay melt...big difference
@@vermillionenterprises not really true. I've bought plenty of sovereigns using spot + 0. I understand the subtlety. It's just the Melt uses Spot...100% of the time.
@@Prethen it is exactly true....spot = $2670 right now...you would never pay $2670 for a sovereign, you pay melt = $629...huge difference
This whole concept of melt is for people who don't understand basic math. Melt (the cost of the coin) = Spot X # of ounces. I suppose that Brian has to deal with a lot of these people.
