To be able to play with Bron and CP at that age, he was definitely elite. Probably better than 95% of the world for his age. What a privilege and experience.
@@MrDuncanhall of course, look at IT4 the moment the athleticism is gone, no matter how good he is offensively because of his height, he becomes a liability on defense so much and he also lost his ability to attack too and with that height it will be very hard to score in an efficient rate.
i mean at least his hard work didn't go to waste. He's one of the best bball trainers in the world and wouldn't have been if he didn't push his basketball potential to its limits. It sucks tho that basketball is a sport wherein physical attributes are a huge part of how far you can go in the professional setting but I guess Relph is a good example to wherein even if you don't have the best physical gifts but have the work ethic and drive to be the best, you can still make something out of the sport.
@@TheHonest1234 Even if he didn't do anything basketball related his hard work wouldn't have gone to waste. He'd have developed a good worth ethic, discipline, and a strong, fit body. Those are all things we want to have, and many people never attain a single one in their entire lives.
This was back when 5 star camps and recruiting ratings were pure. What I mean by that was there was a a lot less projection used in the rankings. It was all about who where the best player at the time. How people thought you would do in college played a little bit of the role in rankings. Recruiting is now based mostly on your NBA projections. You can outplay someone the first three years in HS but they will be ahead of you in the rankings if they have the prototypical size and athletecism.
This was the beginning of things changing. Kobe, TMac, KG etc showed it was money to be made by going after the HS kids so they just started looking younger and younger until we got to the point of rankings for 3rd graders 😂
I had a friend in college that played Lebron in high school. Said it was the crazy thing he was ever apart of and they destroyed his team. Fun hearing stories like that
@@frankiethefrog1752 I was born in 03 so obviously I can’t remember the league without lebron but I wish I was there to see the hype about him as a teenager.
I went to Five Star in 2007 and CP was there as a guest and he just did some exhibition drills and he was the definition of elite. He was still at Wake Forest then.
I loved returning back to school from summer break hearing stories of classmates who went Five Star, Nike Camp, and Adidas ABCD. I heard about the Bron's, Sebastian Telfairs, CP, Gerald Green, Dwight Howard and others before the national fame and NBA.
Coach Tylerys clarity is the reason he is where he's at. He didn't waste time trying to be a league guy even though he got closer than most of us will ever dream of.
Howard Garfinkel said that about 2 players: Lebron and Lloyd Sweet Pea Daniels. He said Lloyd was the best 16 year old he saw play dead, alive, or unborn. Lloyd was a monster and had game like Bron in 86 but he had drug issues and got shot as well.
His college was not only in my conference but also in my division. Had to play him at least twice a year my entire college career. The program was trash at the time but you had to watch him though. Him and his rugby teammate from Australia that played the 2 for them. They brought it every game.

5 Star camp was funny but I hated it at the same time. Some of the best basketball players from all over the country played there. I was at camp with mean ass Steve Blake and Jason Williams.
