Of course, he's too loyal to do what usopp did in water 7, so I imagine it'd be a more personal conflict and not something that leads to "insubordination" on zoros part. What I'm getting at is that, given that this is Elbaf we're going into, with all the buildup for usopp and elbaf we get a moment where usopp actually needs to talk sense into zoro, calling back to water 7 (which in and of itself would be on theme considering eggheads parallels to enies lobby) where zoro had to talk sense into luffy about what it meant to be a captain when it came to usopps actions. Zoro has a different view as a pirate (brutally honest) to say his sentiment is wrong is arguable this the same man who’s willing to cut down anybody abandoning the crew true pirate. It’s not like he said don’t mourn but let’s get back on track true second in command
Great video, and I love that sentiment about the world government using people's pride against each other. Because that happens in real life too. People being given titles and feeling they have to change because they have a title now which stops them from working with each other
Zoro shouldn’t hold Luffy up to the standards set by the other Yonko’s when he’s made it quite obvious he’s not that kind of pirate. Just because he got the title doesn’t mean he’s suddenly gonna change who he is.
lets not forget zoro can't be socially "nice" unless its a small girl. To everyone else he's a step away from autistic and he has this idea that luffy as he is isn't capable of being a yonko, its like the fame is getting to zoro and he's becoming embarrassed by luffy. Yo Im callin it now, zoro loses hope in luffy and tries betraying before getting pummeled and brought back.
Think logically. Luffy is meant to be a pirate and he’s repeatedly not acting like 1. He doesn’t owe vegapunk anything or know him from anywhere so why is he acting up. Luffy acts more like a revolutionary than a pirate in most cases. Different or not he has to be held accountable.
@@Manwithetheplan That’s the POINT, he’s not a typical pirate. A typical pirate has no problems with killing and enslaving innocent people. Blackbeard said a pirate group isn’t a group of friends, it’s a group of people with similar goals. The straw hats are the exact opposite of that, they are close friends with very different goals. They’ve all participated in saving entire countries, and befriending them after only knowing them for a day, and all they ask for in return is a party afterwards. I just want to clarify, I don’t hate Zoro saying what he said. I like it I think it’s true to his character, he’s definitely more cold than the others, especially post time skip.
You make some excellent points. It is just a title, the person is still the same person they always were. The only reason they have that title is because part of the person they always were happens to be ridiculously strong beyond that they're still them. Using their pride against them, that also makes sense. Both of these points easily translate into the real world. I've seen them in action. So yeah, I have to agree with what you said. All of it.
Just like crocodile got exposed to the public from what he did after he got big, he has to lose his position or it will ruin their reputation or the look and he has to got to jail for it even if they knew what he was doing before the fact… the fact that he got exposed to the public for what he did, the government can’t be seen supporting that now that it was exposed same for all the other yonkos that got beat
Trafalgar D. Water Law… I’ve always been interested in the usage of that name, and I’ve recently come to think that Napoleon Bonaparte and Joyboy may hold quite a bit more relation than I ever imagined. So the Battle of Trafalgar was the British Royal Navy vs French and Spanish Fleet. The British met the French and Spanish Fleet with a hastily assembled (5 days) alliance to counter them. (👀) The British ended up winning this engagement. The Napoleonic Wars continued for 10 more years until the battle of Waterloo, which marked the final defeat of Napoleon. Polls taken about Napoleon in France determine that they cannot agree on whether Napoleon was a Hero or a Tyrant. Napoleon provided open education and all the students were taught arts and science. Along with providing military expertise and state of the art science research. It is stated to have offered strict discipline and outperformed its European counterparts. Napoleon is considered one of the greatest commanders in history; groups study, discuss, and venerate him; stage reenactments of his battles, lavish balls. (Sounds like the Giants with Joyboy hmm?) Prior to the Napoleonic Code, France did not have a single set of Laws. During the 10 years, Napoleon’s forces were defeated by the Coalition Forces, and he was forced into exile. Though he was known as a warmonger, he started two wars, while defending against 7. They discovered the Rosetta Stone which helped to decipher the hieroglyphs, but with what the Rosetta Stone has become in modern times, I think its One Piece equivalent would be the Voice of All Things. And the most convincing piece of evidence I have to offer is the island that Napoleon was exiled to. Some Mediterranean Island, where he remained until he was prepared to go to battle again. He departed from this island and began the battle of Waterloo, the name of that island is Elba. (The next island we’re going too???) After the defeat at the battle of Waterloo, Napoleon was exiled again, but this time, to the island called St. Helena… named after St. Helena, a Roman Empress who holds the reputation of the Discoverer of Christ’s cross (which could almost certainly be the real world equivalent of finding the One Piece) St. Helena is also known as the mother of Emperor Constantine the Great. If Joyboy was on Laughtale when he died, and Imu became “King” after that, it would be representative of St. Helena being the death place of Napoleon, and the mother of Emperor Constantine the Great. (I hope I don’t sound too wacky with the comparisons, but I just felt like the name was too specific to not look into. Then after looking into Napoleon and thinking about how like Luffy has been against being known as a hero and Joyboy probably being similar. There is a chance I may not be the most informed on Napoleon so I apologize if my comments or comparisons are insensitive or offensive. Just sharing my findings and thoughts.)
I feel you on what you saying brago. I just feel like things have gotten too real. And even children start to learn when its "play" time and when its time to get serious. I feel luffy needs to just get that serious side out a bit more as the situations they will face are gonna be a whole notha level of serious.
I agree with you brago, but i believe in Zoro's case he means more in line with taking responsibility for your inability to fulfill your promise. He means you promised, you fed up , now dont mope about it , try to be better. I believe the yonko title drop was to indicate how far they have come. Zoro understands its a hard thing to do , but expects luffy to do it , now that they have come so far.
Great video. Want to know your thoughts once Luffy finds out Garp is captured on hachinosu? You think he would go there first? And I guess in general, how do you think luffy will react once he realize what’s been happening ?
It's rare, but I think this was a moment where Oda slightly misrepresented a character's actions. Oda is usually excellent at writing characters consistently, but here it felt a bit off. I agree with BDA in the video - besides, Luffy and his crew have always considered themselves "Yonko" level. So I don't think Zoro would have said what he did. It does fit Zoro's personality, but only if he's just now realizing Luffy's Yonko status and future as King. I personally believe how the world is just now seeing Luffy and them, Zoro and the Straw Hats have *been* seeing Luffy this way. So, "You're a Yonko now' I don't think would have been said... not like the way he said it. If anything, I could see Zoro advising Luffy on how to act, but fully understanding and expecting Luffy to act exactly as he did. Zoro knows when to step in, like with the Usopp situation, because he understands Luffy's nature but also recognizes the need for Luffy to act differently sometimes. So it felt out of character for Zoro to be surprised and critical when Luffy was just being himself... Zoro tryna switch up just becuase the World is now seeing Luffy for what he is, is the real issue, imo
This is a great video Brago, I feel like the majority of arguments in the One Piece community is from people thinking titles = some defined power level. It’s like if in real life people looked at Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and Mark Zuckerberg and went, “those guys are all CEO level so they must be comparable in strength,”.
Usually in One Piece certain titles do come with a certain degree of strength so they're not pulling that out of thin air, and CEO's aren't physical combatants in a fictional story.
Honestly it’s zoro’s general respect for luffy that caused the statement. he believes in luffy more than anyone and is literally his number 1 supporter (barring maybe boa). It’s simply the inverse to his reaction to luffy coc on fishman island.
So “Yonko” doesn’t mean anything too? Haha, the Yonko title you speak of was so great at keeping these pirates in conflict that the Kaido and Big Mom teamed up lol. A coherent story is neither defended this much or met with offense when (albeit few) contentious plot points are pointed out.
They teamed up due to Luffy forcing Big mom to go to Wano. If it weren’t for this anomaly, this alliance doesn’t even get thought of. “Yonko”matters for sure, but it’s frivolous and overrated.
Can we get a reaction video of how bebo completely bodied Blackbeard and saved law. Episode 1115 had to be absolutely peak and had to have tipped the power scale in some way.
They are often the same generation Luffy and Blackbeard, Shanks and Buggy. I just hope Luffy and Shanks join forces. I'm sure Blackbeard and Buggy will do the same thing. Who knows maybe Blackbeard will do will get every marine, get the reward and give it to Cross Guild. It makes perfect logical sense. Blackbeard and Buggy have one common enemy, Luffy and Shanks.
I’m still mind blown on how kaido and big mom got defeated and where they ended up. I don’t know how to explain it. But all I know is that they are both dead. That’s real lava. Hot enough to kill anyone instantly. Sorry in advance if my comment was already submitted. I don’t think i submitted it but I forgot because I’m baked. Lmao
yeah zoro is losing sight on who luffy actually is and projecting what he thinks he needs to be on him, lets not forget zoro has 0 social skills and would kill everyone who bugs him if he never found luffy, IF he lived that long.
Looking at that Title, I was unsure about what problem does Brago have now. 😂 But as I am watching the video, I get his perspective and reasoning for making this video and ngl Brago is cooking🔥 The One Piece community can be really annoying most of the times. And even I was fed up with people obsessing over hating characters just because they got a title now. I would love to get this kind of content in the future as well 🙌🏻
My perspective didn't change, I just pointed out that I understood Brago's perspective as I was "watching" the video, look carefully never did I ever say I "watched" the entire video, I said I was "watching" the video. Because I had the same perspective I understood where Brago was going with this video after watching the first few minutes
Titles got kuma whole family killed and made doffy who he is. Blackbeard fought for the Title of warlord just so he could leverage into owning an entire island. Luffy is fighting this entire journey for the Title of the most free on the sea. Sure it doesnt make you a different person but it gives you different responsibilities that you need to take into account. zoro was right.
If Luffy goal is to be the freest man on the sea but can’t grieve because of Yonko title then Zoro is wrong not right. So your basically saying Luffy should give up on being the free man on the sea for a title he has for a week or two 😂
Zoro Is 100% wrong. It would be like somebody told him "man, just get over Kuina, shit happens" or "man, fuck yasuie, what are you mad about". Zoro should know how Luffy the person operates, if he just starts seeing titles then it's his problem.
I don’t think the yonko don’t work together BECAUSE of their title so much as their own personalities and abilities are what made them so great and those personalities are too prideful/clash with one another that prevents an alliance
At the same time I think or Zoro’s line as of an advisor was talking to a prince or a king of a nation…like hey you have to get up and get to moving people are relying on you
The zoro fandomn realizing people would drop zoro in a second if he ever challenges luffy is wild😂..they really thought zoro was vegeta to goku😂..when in reality he is just his best henchman Krilin😂
I don't see any reason we should think Mihawk's title is any more "legit"-- we have some very good reason right now to believe Mihawk's title should be "The strongest swordsman who isn't an elite Celestial Dragon whose existence, powers and abilities are top secret."
Because it makes Zoro's entire goal meaningless. His goal Is to beat Mihawk. If he is not ACTUALLY the wss, then Zoro isn't, and he has an empty title. It would be like if Luffy never actually made it to Laugh Tale and was just handed the title, It would mean nothing and waste all of the time spent to build It up. Mihawk simply HAS to be on that level, for narrative purpose to make sense.
@@starbound100 Zoro's goal was to become the strongest swordsman-- not "beat Mihawk". Just because he has spent two years thinking Mihawk was the limit and then finds out there is secretly someone even stronger doesn't change anything. It just means he needs to beat the next guy. It would be more like Luffy reaches Laughtale and finds out that the "One Piece" isn't a treasure that is there but something he has to take one more additional step that Roger couldn't do to achieve it. It just means that the finish line for your goal is a bit further than you thought it was.
Sure he's luffy, but you'd expect him to grow. He did grow some after the timeskip, then he got gear 5 and took 3 steps back. If luffy was half as serious in egghead as in wano I don't think vegapunk would have died. Instead of brushing it off, you could have used this as a good character moment for luffy and sanji. But no, we have to have the obligatory party.
Were you blind and deaf when we saw Big Mom crying about cake and Mother Carmel? Or when we saw Kaido crying and drinking about Joker/Doffy losing? How about when Shanks has been shown multiple times to just drink, party, and act like a child most of the time, when he's not dropping lore. Y'all make no sense. A Yonko has MORE freedom to do whatever he/she wants.
It's not 3 steps back. Luffy wants freedom but also the strength to be free and protect what he treasures. The reson he was more serious Post Timeskip Pre Gear 5th was because he knew he still wasn't strong enough to overcome the strongest in the world. Without Gear 5th Luffy did not have the luxury to be what he wants to be without dire consequences. Gear 5th in essence liberated him from a lot of burden he had from Timeskip to Wano. The form by nature is euphoric to Luffy that allows him to be what he was in East Blue, while still being strong enough to face what comes his way. Post Marineford Luffy: I'M WEAK!! Gear 5th Luffy: This is my Peak! Sure he's developing some bad habits when in Gear 5th but I don't blame him. I'd goof off too if I had that power As for not saving Vegapunk I feel Luffy in Gear 5th rides a wave of fate where he goes with the flow of what happens but doesn't get too involved with what happens. Vegapunk was destined to die and Vegapunk embraced that fate. Luffy was only the agent of liberating Bonney and resisting those who wanted to silence the truth from being broadcasted to the world
@@axedrel211Yeah even if Luffy was serious, he still couldn't defeat them, not because he isn't strong enough, but because no one on that island including Luffy has a way to Permanently Hurt them. "Serious Luffy" wouldn't change anything. Luffy was in no way a threat to Elder's lives
I agree with a lot of what you said but there's some outliers. I don't think you can really make thst claim about Mihawk when he's chasing fodders out thr Grand Line into East Blue just to kill them but he dodges Vista when it comes time to fight a real opponent.
@@littyfromsouth2002the issue is Mihawk is someone who cares for swordsmanship yet he only fought 1 top tier swordsman we know of so far. And when a challenge comes along he doesn’t fight him. I’m not saying Mihawk should fight every single person in the story but he should fight other top swordsmen
@@travisealy3512why, if he is widely known already as the Number 1, and the only person he saw as a rival lost his dominant hand. Even in combat sports, it's the challenger that challenges the champion, not the champion going around picking fights. I don't get why you want Mihawk to be weak.
Yea that shit was retarded but at the same time Zoro is a dumb dude so it's not out of character for him
lets not forget zoro can't be socially "nice" unless its a small girl.
@@JerryS-zb2lf😂😂
Even Luffy expects more. Bro lost a draw of straws to kid and law and said “man I’m a yonko now i can’t be losing stuff like this” lmaoooo
I enjoy these rants a lot
You make some excellent points. It is just a title, the person is still the same person they always were. The only reason they have that title is because part of the person they always were happens to be ridiculously strong beyond that they're still them.
Using their pride against them, that also makes sense.
Both of these points easily translate into the real world. I've seen them in action.
So yeah, I have to agree with what you said. All of it.
8:22 Zoro after the timeskip: colder, less jovial and meaner.
1:50 - 2:20 this whole part was a bar. good video
Great vid mr brago
Trafalgar D. Water Law…
I’ve always been interested in the usage of that name, and I’ve recently come to think that Napoleon Bonaparte and Joyboy may hold quite a bit more relation than I ever imagined.
So the Battle of Trafalgar was the British Royal Navy vs French and Spanish Fleet.
The British met the French and Spanish Fleet with a hastily assembled (5 days) alliance to counter them. (👀)
The British ended up winning this engagement.
(Sounds like the Giants with Joyboy hmm?)
Prior to the Napoleonic Code, France did not have a single set of Laws.
(The next island we’re going too???)
After the defeat at the battle of Waterloo, Napoleon was exiled again, but this time, to the island called St. Helena… named after St. Helena, a Roman Empress who holds the reputation of the Discoverer of Christ’s cross (which could almost certainly be the real world equivalent of finding the One Piece)
St.
Im not reading all that gang
Fully agree with Brago and also applies to the real world. You are not your title, the title is filled by you.
I feel you on what you saying brago. I just feel like things have gotten too real. And even children start to learn when its "play" time and when its time to get serious. I feel luffy needs to just get that serious side out a bit more as the situations they will face are gonna be a whole notha level of serious.
King brago on it again.... it's been like 6 years now on this channel
Thank you you for this great video
I agree with you brago, but i believe in Zoro's case he means more in line with taking responsibility for your inability to fulfill your promise. He means you promised, you fed up , now dont mope about it , try to be better. I believe the yonko title drop was to indicate how far they have come. Zoro understands its a hard thing to do , but expects luffy to do it , now that they have come so far.
HAVE ALWAYS LOVED YOUR CONTENT BRO, GENUINELY YOU MAKE ME WANT TO UPLOAD MY THOUGHTS, USING CAPS LOCK TO SHOW THE EMOTION AND LOVE FOR YOU DAWG! PEACE
Excellent video!
man's wafflin today
The black beard slander is crazy. That’s a while but factual.
I agree with you brago
Brago.... Your good at voicing over people
Brago was spitting facts
Great vid Brago
ALL FACTS
This is the best defense i ever seen for Mihawk
Spicy Title @Brago
@Brago Ngl you speaking deep. At the end of the day, it's about not being shackled by titles. as you said FREE WILL🔥
Great video!
And therin is why whole cake island and wano kuni was excellent.... took you a while to see the depths of Oda's writing..
Great vid super necessary!
Honestly it’s zoro’s general respect for luffy that caused the statement. he believes in luffy more than anyone and is literally his number 1 supporter (barring maybe boa).
It’s simply the inverse to his reaction to luffy coc on fishman island.
Kaido and Big Mom coming back from God Valley 2.0 👀😏
It's funny comming from zoro after being stalled for 20 chapters.
Good video, you are 100% correct
An easier example is what people expect of pirates in the OP world yet alot aren't like that like Luffy, shanks, Law..
8:22 That actually does happen lol, or more-less they reveal a side that was initially hidden.
This thumbnail shows perfect power scaling 😂😂
Yonkous are like A list celebrities
It’s worded like, “are these your presidents”
This was a good one.
“Yonko”matters for sure, but it’s frivolous and overrated.
bro that zoro line was such a throwaway, holy, the fandom is brain rot with some things
only like 2 mins in but bro Kaido lost the whole of wano, which was the territory he was known for, so of course he lost yonko
The thumbnail is so good!
Can we get a reaction video of how bebo completely bodied Blackbeard and saved law. Episode 1115 had to be absolutely peak and had to have tipped the power scale in some way.
I’m not certain it’s the WG that names a Yonko, but BigNews Himself.
ONE PIECE has always been perception vs reality.
I really like these videos.
could say the same about u brago u changed ever since u gone viral
i wish my english teachers made us read one piece as like an assignment
What if shanks was the only yonko who thought that way and was waiting for luffy to join him and find the OP?
Lmao
This is longest no ive ever seen😂😂😂😂
Bda lol these titles have me like, let me watch it cuz it's BDA
then I realize I underestimated the entire vid
yeah zoro is losing sight on who luffy actually is and projecting what he thinks he needs to be on him, lets not forget zoro has 0 social skills and would kill everyone who bugs him if he never found luffy, IF he lived that long.
Luffy x Nami at the end GGWP :)
I’m gonna take a guess here and say….i think Brago is tired? According to my sources
0:01 😩
Looking at that Title, I was unsure about what problem does Brago have now. 😂
But as I am watching the video, I get his perspective and reasoning for making this video and ngl Brago is cooking🔥
The One Piece community can be really annoying most of the times. And even I was fed up with people obsessing over hating characters just because they got a title now.
I would love to get this kind of content in the future as well 🙌🏻
How did ur perspective change in the 3 mins this video has been out rn
My perspective didn't change, I just pointed out that I understood Brago's perspective as I was "watching" the video, look carefully never did I ever say I "watched" the entire video, I said I was "watching" the video. Because I had the same perspective I understood where Brago was going with this video after watching the first few minutes
Oh okay, also I wasn't saying u said u watched the whole video
@@spring_barger6575Oh my bad
Buggy is the real life Trump. 😂
I just realised, a vice Admiral defeated half of Blackbeards crew. I dont see another Admiral doing what he did. Does that mean: Garp>Admiral?
Uuh, Kuzan litterally did just that in the flashback, and he was fresh out of the navy there.
10 minute movie
I don’t think the yonko don’t work together BECAUSE of their title so much as their own personalities and abilities are what made them so great and those personalities are too prideful/clash with one another that prevents an alliance
At the same time I think or Zoro’s line as of an advisor was talking to a prince or a king of a nation…like hey you have to get up and get to moving people are relying on you
Not because of, but it adds to it. The expectations placed and expected of them by their subordinates. It’s a lot of pressure to not ally.
@@bdalaw ah graced* with a response from the main man himself, thanks for the content and the reply!
The zoro fandomn realizing people would drop zoro in a second if he ever challenges luffy is wild😂..they really thought zoro was vegeta to goku😂..when in reality he is just his best henchman Krilin😂
luffy did not even drop rob lucci in a second
what happen to the intro brago
I blame powerscalers 😂
Quinten Path
Finally a lore accurate thumbnail… unlike ur colleague KOL smh
Egghead recap plzzzzzz
Sure he's luffy, but you'd expect him to grow. He did grow some after the timeskip, then he got gear 5 and took 3 steps back. If luffy was half as serious in egghead as in wano I don't think vegapunk would have died. Instead of brushing it off, you could have used this as a good character moment for luffy and sanji. But no, we have to have the obligatory party.
Bro is acting like Luffy was any threat to the Elders. Zero damage. A "serious Luffy" wouldn't have changed anything.
I'd goof off too if I had that power
As for not saving Vegapunk I feel Luffy in Gear 5th rides a wave of fate where he goes with the flow of what happens but doesn't get too involved with what happens.
@@sonikspeed19Fr bruh
I agree with a lot of what you said but there's some outliers. I don't think you can really make thst claim about Mihawk when he's chasing fodders out thr Grand Line into East Blue just to kill them but he dodges Vista when it comes time to fight a real opponent.
You cant expect mihawk to do what you want, he does what he wants
Facts tho and we still haven’t seen him fight a high tier opponent and win 😂😂😂😂
This is what happens when people take funny agendas seriously, Mihawk was toying with Vista.
It would make Zoro a completely meaningless character.
If I were Roger, I would have told my crew or just Rayleigh to turn me in for the bounty money instead of doing it for free, lol
