- From a young age, John Magiro, was drawn to engineering and technology, like moths to flames. His teachers say that he always showed his aptitude for technology. From tinkering with dynamos, John Magiro's hydopower company supplies clean energy to a factory and thousands of rural dwellers in Murang'a County, Kenya. This, thanks to a grant he received through NETFUND and WWF-Kenya.

Look at how the mum is proud a son who had difficulties reading and writting is now a champion.
To God be the glory.
No, the glory belongs to his son.
Quit praising God for the hard work of people.
The face of an African mother, very proud of her son.
She needs to relax bana 😆
That's what kenya and Africa needs in great deal. Not just prayers, but prayers with actual action, production
Both are important
@@m.a.c.h.a.r.i.a__we need innovation more than prayers in africa
The whole world needs prayers with action.
@@eustaciogriego1912 the world needs innovation not prayers
@@Napolean46 look at what El Salvados´s president has done, and take account that he credits a lot of things to spirituality. Look up Nayib Bukele´s interview with Tucker Carlson
I have been following his story over the years and the fact that he managed to get funding to scale up his idea it is commendable. All the best Magiro, we hope you dethrone the current firms exploiting us on price.
Exactly
Amazing... inspired the Africa I want to live in...
do some research.... like any at all.. and you'll see why this was bs.
@@lastlaugh5178, continue to engage in research and criticize others' efforts as worthless, despite their contributions to making positive change and earning income. This narrative portrays you as an absolute loser.
Explore Africa, is a place full of untapped opportunities and potential.
Had to subscribe this is so inspirational
I want to say that I saw him give a tedtalk over YT, and then I came to the part where he started making power from bicycle wheels with generating parts attached and I knew it was him! Glad to see him be able to live out his vision of helping power his people's lives too 😊
From
My home region…we love you Magiro
Very inspiring, this is proof that passion and dedication can lead to some insane products.
Mungu made this statement boldly to mankind “ I created you from my image” those who understand the true meaning of this statement flourish skol or no skol! You are a talking, walking, breathing, and re producing greatest computer ever made! You only need to use that inbuilt computer properly and wisely and you are good to go! Never be discouraged
This is what's required in Kenya. Innovation and providing solutions to community needs. This the guys who should be rich in Kenya. They have a product to sell and make money but not the crooks in government that only steal tax payers resources to enrich themselves. Some have never worked in life yet are millionaires .
These are the kind of people we need onto this nation
These are the heroes of kenya.not the thieves in government
A truly humbling game changer.
We need more of such.
Beautiful story. Sheer grit and no excuses.
Muranga never dissapoint....
This is commendable! Congratulations to Magiro and team.
Wow, what a genius. Who has noticed how confident the guy is. Imagine if Kenya produced 100k guys like this, we would go far. Sadly, we produce more corrupt guys instead of innovators.
No, you just promote the corrupt, more than you do the innovative. You have made corruption more lucrative than innovation.
how about you work on yourself and stop whining like a small little brat
The sad part is such people can't be elected in political arenas and instead we love conmen and conwomen. We will vote the best liar and thief in power and then complain after. Who bewitched us?
The politicians block innovative youth because the innovators are not their kids or themselves , plus that's the colonial policy left behind neocolonialism to stop population growth and innovation so they can dump things but china has been the beneficiary with their cheap products
When vision meets resources miracles will happen
What brilliant mind over there this are the kind of innovators who should be recognised nationally and international, I love how the mother spoke in native kikuyu language then mkatafuta translators
meeeen my god,,,,the whole 4.44 minutes are so humbling,,, it is possible✊✊✊✊
mashallah
Great stuff
This inspiration, encouraging, excellent, innovative and beautiful.. I'm proud of this young man.. Blessings. Keep it up 👏
From a boy who struggled to read and write... congratulations bro and keep it up. The future is bright
Very inspiring, great minds. Projects like these should be embraced and get heavy funding. Kudos
These is the kind of education system needed
Exactly not indonctrinatiin of things that will.nevrr help you in life
We hide you champion may they never see you
Already at my first visit to Kenya, I knew that Kenya is different. There is so much raw talent and industriousness. And good people, too!
John story is an example of how innovation and dedication can create sustainable solutions for energy challenges. His ability to transform simple materials into a community-changing project is an inspiration to us, demonstrating that great achievements often start with small, resourceful steps. 🔧
I always look forward to his new videos. They are just inspirational. Someone should make his movie.
Thesebis right like that movie known as a boy who hannesed the wind they are very simillar
I watched a magiro power plant years ago, very nice
I'm motivated 🙏 thank you
Amazing! Inspiring!
Brilliant idea keep it up bro
This is amazing 👏👏👏👏👏
Good work , so unfortunate that or selkal dont supprt such . Hope you be great.
Radar Safi Sana Magiro.
Awesome 👌 👏 👍 😍
Awesome and outstanding
Great stuff! May he win! May he find a way to make electric power reliable (99.9999% uptime) across Kenya.
am soo proud
Outstanding .
My village mate... we are proud of you Magiro
Good initiative. How about upscaling it to other far-flung areas of Africa and gloval south, devoid of electricity?
Do you really know Africa or you just talking?
@@Dizzy_N I'm born, bred and raised in Kenya, East Africa. I doubt if you got the jist of my statement. Let me break it down for you.
If institutions and governments can tap into this and spread it across their spheres of influence, for education, health, security and innovation,it would be a game changer. The flip side concern is, how many are willing to bring positive change?
@@brianmarv Good to know where you from. Trust me I understood your statement. There are so many people, land and resources in these different countries in Africa. These people need to utilize their own resources more effectively and the majority of them could make their own energy amongst other things without having to import it even from their own neighbors. It's so Pan African but it's inefficient.
@@Dizzy_N exactly. But many do not even gave access to basic power. This is something they can tap into.
A genus man from home 💪💪 and because of his invention we don't always depend on kplc but we have his power supply which is more efficient than kplc blackout faulty 😂😂😂😂 I love this man
Damn this is pure innovation....
Quite inspiring!
Great innovation
Great mind.
God is Good
This is awesome.
Please do a follow up with how many homes are powered by a Magiro HydroBox turbine. Also, what is the cost to build each HydroBox hydropower station?
How cool is that!
Amazing
Good job Magiro!
Brilliant mind
Something like this will never be allowed in many countries it would interfere with the earnings of the Local Electricity Supply Commissions. There's similar project in Malawi but not as organized, I'm so happy for these boys.Make cash and bring light to all those African countries that are still in the dark
Wow. Inspirational
great INNOVATIVE works.congrats from MATHIOYA TECHNICAL COLLEGE Located at kamacharia.
That's a cool setup.
Excellent work and good performance am proud of you. This is what I call innovation without kusema tafhadali mweshimiwa nataka appointment with you? May Almighty God bless Kenya with people of this type. How can keep in contact with you Sir?
Very awesome
Can I be informed about the same plant availability
The Man!
The mother is really happy
Bit ott though 😆
People are still confusing energy with electricity or electric grid
Energy we use mostly is mechanical rotational (washing machine, heat exchangers, fridge compressor, workshop tools, kitchen mixer, grain mills, etc) that can be powered directly by a shaft of vawt wind turbine or water turbine as this case
The other energy we use is thermal for cooking, glass or metal melting, clay curing furnace, etc and that can be obtained by simple big solar water lenses or aluminum mirror concentrated solar
Electricity is only needed for citcuits
Great work comrade,, we are capable of doing more and more only that we don't have support, some government rules kills talents,, I have all that it needs, but all I have done is almost nothing and what I see probably I will end up just like thaaaat.... So disappointed 😞
All the young man
Proud
This is a kenyan celebrate❤❤❤❤
Kazi poa mzee
Kenya needs as many small and local power generating stations in addition to the mega ones.
Where is the project located...we would like to visit and learn
wow
I really wonder whether such characters ever receive presidential recognition
Is this the same county from.the likes of equity bank n Jimmy wanjigi😂❤
Impressive
Bravo bro
No man is limited
This must be somewhere in muranga
Yes it is, Mathioya constituency , near Kangema
I thought kplc doesnt allow anyone to supply power
For those who keep on saying innovators get killed or sijui nini in this land. Huyu ameishi! Msiogope.
why some video dont have view play and sound? does content creators can set it in the settings??? you want me click your video right???😂😂😂😂
This is my guy
Here in Tz there few like him but they don't wanna know them
Nobody cares about tz ,, this is kenya
Compare and contrast to a young Irish lad who took a 4 inch pipe of water from a river to power a turbine. The authorities got a digger in, destroyed the pipe, turbine and small impound pool made by moving a few large rocks leaving a pile of rubbish (the materials alone probably cost about 200-500 euro) and told the local farmer to clear it up!! Kenya he's a hero, Ireland and most of Europe, get your ass kicked for being a naughty boy! The river in question, back in the 1830's had a dozen water powered mills on it, all gone today. Such a great resource ignored for giant wind turbine monstrosities plaguing our skylines, that don't even supply basic demand and cost a fortune via our energy bills.
Likes for the dyslexic people❤
If many African countries had supportive leaders like Kenya we would have been somewhere. But most countries can not support such talent because of envy. If you check out countries having load shedding as at now have a lot of such brilliant talented minds among their youths to minimize the problem, but just can't support them because of jealous. Yet they have PhD holders in electrical engineering among the ministers and managers of power utility companies who aren't innovative. Shame!!!
An individual can do such amazing work, but when it comes to govt, it takes centuries and billions to realise the same.kudos
where permit?
If a mechanic can dismantle the vehicle engine and assemble them, what does he lack not make to an engine from a scratch?
Wait so he is the founder .. hope the CEO is not taking ownership but an employee he can fire after he learns how to be a CEO
Sounds great but the issue here is the gov of Kenya is nowhere to be seen what a shame to us as a continent we can't support our own. 😂😂😢😢
Imagine
Hope zakayo will not disturb this project
R u to asijue iyo😁
Kplc iwache kujiona Simba kila time
I hope he's getting TEDex invitation soon
Talent or skill
Soon kplc will shut down him i know how corrupt this people are
There are several others in this cou😢
You can't do this in Canada. They don't want you to have free things hahaha. Oh the irony... even small houses are not allowed because the city council will not make money if hod forbid you live for free
Kenya power is happy ?
He sells to kplc
Nope
Why did it have to be a white investor getting a piece of the profits again. Couldn t it have been just a good story about a dude in africa solving the eletric problem for his people.
Ìs he trying to speak English or what language is that?? He better speak his local language and hand someone translate
