- Pike Fishing : How to Twist Trace Wire
Trace making is one of the first skills most pike fisherman want to learn. One of the simplest ways of making a pike trace is by twisting the wire. In this short video Paul Garner takes a look at how to attach a treble hook to the trace using twisting. Exactly the same process can be used for attaching swivels too, making this a great way to make your own traces for pike and zander fishing.
Twiddlin' wire only works with seven-strand wire, for 19 or 49-strand wire we recommend using crimps or a knotless knot system instead.
Making your own trace enables you to design rigs to the exact specifications that you need for float, leger and lure fishing rigs. Please subscribe as we will be uploading more trace and rig making videos soon.
