I'm Aquarius 4th house and Libra sun and Libra ascendant. I believe Aquarius don't have the ability to express their feelings well due to the potential judgement from others. They don't like to take advice and think they know better all the while their life is in shambles and always the victim when they can sometime be the cause of their demise. Because as you said they run from the emotion.
Not expressing you're feelings has nothing to do with judgement it's just to avoid peoples temperaments and confrontations because if a person whos already detached tells you how they really feel and what they really think nine times out of ten you're not going to like it
