This just goes to show that, just how it is in more or less every engagement, tactics and skill are much more important than hardware. Both the T-34 and the Sherman outclass the Panzer III in nearly every way physically, but, as shown here, they're by no means invincible to an experienced, and calculated crew.
Isn't that model of T-34 the one equipped with a 76mm cannon that doesn't even pierce 80mm? If so then with some distance and angling the Pz III M is probably better (the Pz III M has spaced armor and 70mms on the front mantlet/turret. If I'm thinking about the right T-34 then the Pz III M outclasses that T-34 in armament, maneuverability, and has enough armor to protect against the T-34's armament (it doesn't matter if your armor is worse than your opponents if your opponent doesn't have the armament to pierce it).

So I'd say on the penetrating front, the t 34 has the panzer 3 beat. This is actually the whole reason why the panzer 4 (the version with the long 75, not the short one used for He) is a thing. To counter the issue of panzer 3s struggling heavily with the t 34 and k v1 armours. The t 34 is also just flat out faster, no question about it. The t 34 also, in the instance presented, has better green camo, as opposed to the factory tan of the german tank. The advantages that the panzer 3 has are out weighed by the disadvantages in this fight. Those advantages being a quicker firing gun (meaning more chances to find your range, hit a moving target, or find the right place to penetrate) and the fact that there is a gunner and a commander, but that is not really relevant in the situation in the video as they are not multicrewing, other then quicker swap from binoculars to cannon.
@@ironchancellorottovonbisma8573 The Panzer 3 M's cannon is a smaller 50mm with more penetration actually, (100mm) so no the t-34 doesn't have it beat for penetration (The only advantage the higher caliber offers the T-34 is explosive mass; more damage will be done inside the tank if the round happens to pierce). The Pz 3 M will still have difficulty piercing the T-34, but it will still be very possible through the turret, while the T-34 will have extreme difficulty piercing anywhere really. The poor camo point is fairly moot due to the Pz 3 M's great armor, the turret is much less cramped inside of the Pz 3 M, the radio actually works, you have space for a commander and a hatch for everyone's escape. The T-34 is faster, but in combat it's not the most helpful due to the platform being, so unstable (practically no suspension, so you can forget about on the move shots and the gun depression is god awful like in most Russian vehicles). Even without considering factors that only affect real life scenarios I still think the armor and armament comparison still makes the Pz 3 M a winner (I mean after all if your enemy is incapable of killing you and you're very capable of killing him that's all that matters). I'd take a Pz 3 M any day if I had to choose one or the other. In most scenarios I'd probably take a T-34 over a Pz III, but the particular variants of each vehicle in this comparison make a huge difference.

At normal engagement distances, Il-2 and real life (ie. 500-1000m) the german tank (I'm going of of Aphe round) has 85-70mm of penetration. While the t 34 does definitely have less penetrating power at point blank, it barely has a disadvantage at longer ranges. So with this info I would think the t 34 would be better! But, niether of us has taken into account the slope of the t 34 main frontal armour plate, and to a lesser degree the side plates, but we are talking about the front right now. The t 34 has a slope of 60 degrees, + or - about 5 degrees depending on unevenness in generally flat terrain. This brings the armour to about 80-95mm of effective thickness, which the panzer 3 would have trouble with, but the armour is made even more efficient due to the slope. The round when trying to penetrate slopes armour has a harder time due to it not being straight on. This can bring the effective penetration to any where from 30-40mm at close range to 20-30 at 500-1000m distance. Now this is ignoring the turret of the t 34 which is sloped in some places, but generally is flat. The 50mm might have trouble in some spots, but will definitely have a fairly easy time of getting through up to a 1000m and even at longer distances. The panzer 3 has good armour of around 55mm of spaced armour most places in the front, bringing the effective thickness to somewhere around 75mm. While this is good protection, I would argue that the main hull is inferior to the t 34s main hull. But I do see your point with the turret and would agree that the t 34 turret protection wise is inferior. Now your arguement with the camo being "the poor camo point is fairly moot due to the panzer 3M's great armour." Kind of grinds my gears. Not being spotted is the biggest advantage a tank could have in my opinion. It allows for you to control the engagement, it allows you to maybe get a shot in the side if the enemy tank isnt activity pointing their frontal armour at you, it allows you to wait for a closer, more suitable range for your gun if they are driving towards you. All of those things can be used against you if the t 34 spot your tan hull in the green trees. The german armour is good, but not from the side, and who knows, maybe the t 34 closes and penetrates through the front at a closer range. Your arguement with the 3 man turret is very valid actually and I respect it. The ability to have one person shot and another spot while a third is loading is invaluable. This is a really fun arguement and I would love to play tank crew with you some time, my discord is HerrShindler#3736 if you ever want to play!

Just drives home the point/reason why the concept of "Safety in numbers." is a thing. It's one thing to get surprise attacked from one direction, but once you have rounds coming in from a second direction the situation is pretty hopeless no matter what you do.
You have answered my question and this game looks everything I could hope for, with nobs on. How do the aircraft integrate into the game. If you say they are player flown I will do a silly walk especially for you.
Aircraft are fully intergraded in the game. In multiplayer you will see player controlled aircraft flying around. (In the last video we were attacked by one) In Single player they are out and about as well.

It wans't that hard to kill a T-34/76, after the aftermath of the T-34 shock, the germans reconized very fast, that the T-34/76 had some problems, one oft the biggest was, that the tank commander was even the gunner, so he had the problem aim or look around and the in a squad/groupe only the commando tank had a radio, the others not. On the other side, even, the weaker PIII and PIV from the erlier days had a tank crew of 5 members and every tank had a radio, besides their weaker guns and amor they had the better tactic and better crew splitting, that they are able to outmaneuvering a T-34/76 more or less easly.
There is side hatches around about a foot behind the main drive sprocket wheel on either side. So you have to crawl over the bottom suspension and road wheels to get out, that might be a problem if you hit a mine and caught fire as the damage might be to great to crawl out that way.
@@ChrisS-fh7zt Only on the early models (B-J), though. The L-N models didn't have the escape hatch. Some tanks which were ordered as J model were armed with the 5cm L/60 gun and designated as L model: presumably they had the escape hatch. In fact, since the L model also lost the smoke dischargers, the tanks in the video ought to be a couple of those J/L tanks, unless the game isn't 100% realistic, which may be the case.
I wish they had games like this the only game with full interior on xbox is tank mechanic simulator but it doesn't have combat the closest thing to combat is simulator war thunder the should add a combat mode in tank mechanic simulator

I need help, I just bought the game and installed it yesterday. I clicked on „I just bought the game“ and created an account with google. Then I tipped in my email and password but it tells me that their wrong, even tho I made it completely right. I dont know what to do anymore. I sat on it for over 80 minutes. Pls help

@@Wolfpack345 not true, ambush gives you the advantage to start, if it goes well the first shot is free. Then you deal with the firefight that follows. But when you can fire cannon and machine guns at a target and the driver doesn't even button up. They just sit there and get shot. Not an ambush, just target practice on defenceless tanks that can't shoot back. Makes a boring video!
Hi wolfpack i just bought silent hunter 3 and i cant download the ”Grey wolves” mod. and all the tutorials are so old and dont work for me so can you help me in any way that would be helpful. I have the mod downloaded and i dont know where to put it in the files to work in game. Its really frustrating.

(faster, faster) very nice push, combing movement and gunnery, when driving a tank from a realistic perspective you kinda feel like ur inside a cave and cut off from the world, it can be very easy to sit there in your tank scope focused forwards. sometimes when spotting or you suspect your being watched, rather than coming to a dead stop and very slow crawl is useful as you can more easy dump the power in for dodge (although i don`t know how much control you have over acceleration and throttle response in tank crew)......however like you've said movement is whats gets you spotted, so knowing when to move and stay still is not an easy one... however one basic rule of thumb...the faster move, the less time you have to spot and scan back and forth and being out side on the commander view with bino....while it helps alot to see, it means that you taller and can`t see under and though forest in some situations, sometimes the gun sight is or any view with good zoom that is some what stable with a lower perspective.. really great stuff my man, your shaping up to be one helluva tanker
Can you actually do objectives in the Finnish server with tanks? If I move up to a an objective marked on the map, will those stationary tanks engage me?
It will be nice if admins add the possibility to capture tank bases with refuel and rearm options on these bases. And moving frontline if enemy tank base is captured.
Should of reposition to a more rear arc firing into the engine area of the 2nd T-34 as you wasted about 3 rounds that would probably only took one to finish it.

I was recording the track. I was able to go back and get the cinematic footage. You can access other maps while playing online.

On the other side, even, the weaker PIII and PIV from the erlier days had a tank crew of 5 members and every tank had a radio, besides their weaker guns and amor they had the better tactic and better crew splitting, that they are able to outmaneuvering a T-34/76 more or less easly.

The only thins that scares me about the Pz III is the lack of hatches for the driver and the machine gunner. If the tank gets hit...well yikes 😕
There is side hatches around about a foot behind the main drive sprocket wheel on either side. So you have to crawl over the bottom suspension and road wheels to get out, that might be a problem if you hit a mine and caught fire as the damage might be to great to crawl out that way.
@@ChrisS-fh7zt Only on the early models (B-J), though. The L-N models didn't have the escape hatch. Some tanks which were ordered as J model were armed with the 5cm L/60 gun and designated as L model: presumably they had the escape hatch.
In fact, since the L model also lost the smoke dischargers, the tanks in the video ought to be a couple of those J/L tanks, unless the game isn't 100% realistic, which may be the case.

I wish they had games like this the only game with full interior on xbox is tank mechanic simulator but it doesn't have combat the closest thing to combat is simulator war thunder the should add a combat mode in tank mechanic simulator

The Germans destroyed many thousands of T - 34's with tanks that had guns and armour that were basically inferior to the T - 34 , through the use of smart tactics,like you guys are displaying!

I need help, I just bought the game and installed it yesterday. I clicked on „I just bought the game“ and created an account with google. If you are ambushing and the enemy is shooting back you did something wrong.
@@Wolfpack345 not true, ambush gives you the advantage to start, if it goes well the first shot is free. Then you deal with the firefight that follows. But when you can fire cannon and machine guns at a target and the driver doesn't even button up. They just sit there and get shot. Not an ambush, just target practice on defenceless tanks that can't shoot back. Makes a boring video!

schneller!!! schneller!!! (faster, faster) very nice push, combing movement and gunnery, when driving a tank from a realistic perspective you kinda feel like ur inside a cave and cut off from the world, it can be very easy to sit there in your tank scope focused forwards. sometimes when spotting or you suspect your being watched, rather than coming to a dead stop and very slow crawl is useful as you can more easy dump the power in for dodge (although i don`t know how much control you have over acceleration and throttle response in tank crew)......however like you've said movement is whats gets you spotted, so knowing when to move and stay still is not an easy one...
however one basic rule of thumb...the faster move, the less time you have to spot and scan back and forth and being out side on the commander view with bino....while it helps alot to see, it means that you taller and can`t see under and though forest in some situations, sometimes the gun sight is or any view with good zoom that is some what stable with a lower perspective..

Can you actually do objectives in the Finnish server with tanks? If I move up to a an objective marked on the map, will those stationary tanks engage me?
Yes they will engage you. You can destroy them too.
It will be nice if admins add the possibility to capture tank bases with refuel and rearm options on these bases. And moving frontline if enemy tank base is captured.
Many games fails to make maps properly this is why tanks are unplayable and frustrating in games like WT.
Nice cooperation between you two shame you can't drive over trees and buildings. I real tiger tanks hided in houses.
Should of reposition to a more rear arc firing into the engine area of the 2nd T-34 as you wasted about 3 rounds that would probably only took one to finish it.
He was turning his turret and firing possibly at my squad mate. I was not going to take my chances.

В этой игре И И тупой какой то у вас. В реальности немецкие танки этой модификации не могли взять Т - 34. И пара тридцать четвёрок раскатала бы немчуру в несколько выстрелов. А здесь наши русские танки тупо едут и подставляются под выстрелы. И повторю, танки немецкие, которые здесь у вас в этой игре, не могли пробить советские Т - 34. Так что лажа это и фуфло эта игра.
