Pls don't make such comparison, between leisurely free at will walk and ciw tactical march, where all limbs and body were aching unduly.....hail to the forces.
Have to give you credit for the extra effort to film the process. It must have been hard to place the camera, walk past, walk back to retrieve the camera, repeat for hundreds of times. I just did Jurong to Punggol trail yesterday and can’t imagine me doing that.
The names of the places you've passed through are obviously familiar, but yet the perspectives aren't. We often rush through life in our cars, taxis, and buses, and don't travel at a personal pace, at a personal level, to appreciate our surroundings, and perhaps even be grateful to the people who constructed them.
Watching again after 2 years. I no longer live in SG and this was a bit nostalgic as I know so many parts of the route. I guess your videos reflect a large part of the expat existence which is living and adapting to new environments before moving on again after a few years. I have no doubt I will watch again in a few years.
I'm a Singaporean, and I love my country. But I'll not walk around my beloved country like you did. I usually drive around to explore my beloved island home, never walk. If the walking don't kill me, the weather will. Awesome video & I salute you!
but i wouldnt mind walking around England's countryside as I really enjoyed going there twice. theres a saying about grass is always greener on the other side
Yo..orang kampung he's surely awesome, I really need to copy the feats in the future should cv19 clear... Can you be my host...? You know la northerners Malaysian macam rusa masuk kampung nanti di Singapore.... 😂😂
This is actually harder than it seems! You have to place the Cameras and then backtrack again. The distance covered would be more than 115km! Great work exploring Singapore, it inspires me to want to do the same
If you love it then it isn't a chore. I've walked for hours when I was in Singapore ; time flies and you hardly realise it. This country offers you some of the best opportunities to walk with clean pavements, trails, overhead walkways and lots of vegetation. Great effort and thanks for documenting it for us Richard.
I used to do part of the route when I was 14 years old... bring back lots of memory... when I return to Singapore (been living in the USA for over 20 years)... I will do that!
Salute your determination, walking whole of Singapore. You get to know Singapore better than most of Singaporeans do! Even cycling round island takes a lot of courage too, let alone walking solo!
I did a round-Singapore hike in Dec 2020 too, following a route by a group of hiking enthusiasts. Agrred with your comments on Lim Chu Kang, Kranji and construction around Singapore (especially Punggol Timor and Barat
That was long and inspiring walk, and the music, especially the last part, brings it home. After watching your video, I decided I will take a good hike weekend LOL.
I really enjoy your videos on Singapore. I finally made it there two months ago and I didn't want to leave. And this is a 75 year old talking. I had high expectations and they were exceeded. I just don't understand why some people don't find the place at a minimum interesting. I think it's the most fascinating and interesting modern new city/state in the world. I recognized some of the places you went to. You made me feel better when on Day 1 you got a naster blister on one foot. So did I! You were so lucky to have lived there for several years. I assume you had a drone and possibly someone else help you film your walk. I love seeing scenes of Singapore that I'm familiar with but from a different camera/viewing angle.
What a great way to celebrate your time here, and I'm still surprised you show places I didn't even know existed. Will go explore them now because of this video. Thanks, and keep the great videos coming. Cheers!
Well done!! Never thought of exploring Singapore on foot myself. The longest walk I did was during national service when we did 24km. Wow 114km round island. Bravo!!
Congratulations! You did it in a Tremendous hot and humid country and amazingly you didn’t get a heat stroke. We have over 300K hard labour workers given you a message that the Singaporean can’t stand the heat and can’t do hard labour jobs. If you do the research, you’ll be surprised there’re quite a few “cemetery housing estates” here. Good job!
I've always wanted to do this. During circuit breaker, I did 2-3hrs walks around from where I live, I've learned so much about my area. And your video just inspired me ever more!
Hey chum, lots of children WILL spend 60 minutes watching even two Spiders fight laaaah 😅 I would surely stay longer than 20 min to "Monitor" the Monitors Duet !!! I aint NO children though
Stumbled upon your youtube channel and had a few watch of your videos but this was a masterpiece. Loved it and now subscribing to watch and expect more great video from you. You inspired me to document my own adventures too now!
Loved the face around 13:30, clearly hoping for a very cooling drink ... don't know if intentional. I remember the first time I got a drink from those yellow vending machines. Eco (as not electricity powered from what I understand) all fine, but there should be a massive warning on them (i think there is some text about it) but in moment of need for a cold drink ... vending machine to tasty cold drink is a default brain-association ;-). Love the content (this and other video's), thanks! Keep them coming
Bravo to your determination and stamina to complete your walk despite of blisters. Thanks for sharing our ever changing landscape and help us get to know Spore in its latest development. 👍👍👏👏
I was thinking how did you get rest over the night but you explained it in the end. It was fascinating to watch your entire walk and definitely motivating. Kudos to your achievement ...I totally enjoyed it.
Found your channel very recently and I'm really enjoying your videos! I'm singapore born and bred but I think you know locations in Singapore better than I do. Good job and look forward to more videos!
Hello Richard, there are really many HDB estate rebuilt on cemeteries.. like Bishan, Bisadari and we have Malay cemetery next to HDB and terrace housing next to Bt Brown cemetery
Throughly enjoyed your round island excursion. Wish you can do a estate by estate exploration one day! Thanks! Cheers! Please take extra care and prevent another blister next one! Llok fw! Cheers!
Well done and great work. Appreciate your efforts and inspirations for citizens and visitors to enjoy and explore the island. Thank you for the good work.
I recalled a cemetery next to wisma atria as well as 2 cemeteries (1 jewish) in the current Velocity mall(novena). All 3 cemeteries were present till about 1980. Yes bishan was a massive graveyard, like bidadari. Singaporeans are a pragmatic people
I’ve nearly finished a similar walk over the Christmas break. Kept as close to coast as possible (except on west side when I did the walk by Tengah & cemeteries). Like you I found changi beach pcn with east coast park v boring. Also so many lorries. Taken my time to look around too. Just have sungei bul to Bollywood veggies to do now!!
That was quite the camino on a tropical island. I am amazed at your dedication with the camerawork, I recognise all those places except that i’ve never quite walked to all of them!
A lot of familiar views, it reminds me the one year expat in SG. The east coast, I did it with bike, and you did it with walking. I can imagine it’s really hard to do the SG round trip by walking. Excellent achievement. Well done. 👍
Awesome video! Thanks for documenting your hike and sharing. Certainly help to inspire us to do the same to explore more of our own country when we cannot travel now.
Good job! I've been planning to hike the coast-to-coast trail but it's still in the planning stage. Your video is a great inspiration! P.S. I like the traditional Chinese characters.
This video gives me Kraig Adams vibes lol but I love it even more because it features my own country. For those unaware of Kraig, check out his videos. He goes hiking in mountains and does the same thing with the camera - place it down, walks in shot, and then walks back to retrieve it again and again. Lovely video by the way, it must not have been easy to shoot this!
After experiencing of this trip, It shall be no more difficult to explore others. You had been through the most challenging route..just like triathlon. How did you get the courage to this? I think it might be this land and also people. Be proud of you.. thumb up!

Lim Chu Kang cemeteries aren't cleared for homes - but the expansion, almost doubling of Tengah Air base, to facilitate the closure and move of Paya Lebar Airbase
Mate, the Tourist Board should hire you. Loving the vids of SG!
I think I'm a bit too ghetto for them! Haha
Agreed! Really enjoyed this video! Thanks!
We salute u sir.. Guards and Commando route march was 72km! You broke the record! U are the true warfighter!
Thanks, but I think it's more difficult in a uniform carrying gear!
Pls don't make such comparison, between leisurely free at will walk and ciw tactical march, where all limbs and body were aching unduly.....hail to the forces.

I come back to this video every few months or so. I think its your best work.
I lived in Singapore for three years before moving back to Taiwan. I love both countries. They are great in their own ways.
Awesome. You are literally more Singaporean than the average Singaporean. Great video.
