    Excellent, thank you. We were near Fort Canning, which worked well for us. Only the Downtown line, but that gets you to most areas with just one change

    Singaporean here, I agree to every point made except Clarke Quay area, which I think is an excellent spot for relaxing there are plenty of areas to walk, it’s near the river, boats, etc. It is not that noisy, it is definitely quieter than Chinatown area. At Clarke Quay there are hotels that are located from those noisier restaurant strip if one plans well. Clarke Quay has its own MRT station nearby and is also walking distance Chinatown which is a plus. Boat Quay is the noisier part, I’m not sure if it’s being confused with Clarke Quay which is the quieter part of the river.

    I am going to SG in a couple of weeks time, and will be staying near Chinatown. We love walking and are planning on walking from there to gardens by the bay, SG flyer and the likes.

    Kenot la. All the options you recommend in Chinatown that are within make sense pricing are all hostels, or shared bathroom. For couples who want privacy how? I found some hotels at periphery of Geylang and not all of them are meant for "special" purposes, just need to DYOR hard enough. Ibiz budget range not bad also though not all are the most convenient in terms of accessibility but way cheaper at just SGD 63 a night with our own private room and bathroom. Also, a bit of walking to the MRT daily factors in to the calory reduction while travelling for food.

      can la Chinatown so many options. Yeah Geylang is OK just avoid that particular street

    Thank you for this! What do you think about Robertson Quay?

    • @dashingheights
      @dashingheights  25 дней назад

      I think it’s not very good in terms of accessibility. There isnt an immediate mode of transport to here. You’ll likely have spend around 15 mins to get to the nearest train station.
      I do like the look of the place, it’s v pretty there, nice neighborhood. Theres a new local mall New Bahru that i find very charming. This also coincide with the route that i love to run on :)
      In conclusion i wont recommend, unless youre fine with the accessibility given the nice surrounding

    Hi! Thanks for the great videos about singapore.
    Can you please help me? I’ll be going to SG for the first time this January. I booked a hotel at Arcadia Hotel Hamilton Road. Is it a good location? Is the MRT or bus station nearby?
    im going to SG also because of a concert at the National Stadium. So hope i booked the hotel with a practical location. Im a bit worried as im going with my 57 year old mom. She could be so exhausted as we need to move a lot

      @dashingheights  22 дня назад

      Heya, if the main focus of the stay is to commute back and forth from the National Stadium, it's a good location. However if you're planning to see the other parts of the city it's not the most accessible hotel.
      There is a bus station nearby that you can get within ~ 1km to the National Stadium. For a route with LESS walking, taking the TRAIN to "Stadium CC6" which is the circle line (yellow color) is preferable.
      More about accessibility of this location, you'll be 5 mins away by walk to the nearest Blue Line train station called Bendemeer. However the Blue line is not the most connected to the major attractions, so you'll likely have to walk a bit more when transferring between train lines.
      Within 5 mins you can find bus stations that brings you to some nearby attractions conveniently such as the Sultan Mosque area.
      SO overall it's not a deal breaker, but may not meet your desired outcome of the "least possible amount of walking"

    I feel bad now because we chose Jen by shangri la on orchard road (its only 4 star) yet we have no intention of fancy shopping we chose it because it seemed kind of central to most activities we want to do. Now im not sure where to stay instead. This video helped mind you so yeh im looking at mid range accomodation. 3 to 4 star :)

      ohhh hahah you'll definitely be comfortable there for sure. However for more of Singapore local feels away from too much city I recommend the 3 areas instead :)

    Great video, thanks! how's the Havelock road area to stay at im terms of food options and MRT access?

    • @dashingheights
      @dashingheights  27 дней назад

      Havelock food wise theres Zion hawker, it’s pretty good but it’s one of the smaller hawkers so you wont get as much variety. MRT access you’ll need to transfer many lines. It’s brown line 1 stop away from Outram Park that serves 3 lines, likely mot of the time you’ll get off at outramPark to change train.
      On the bright side havelock is near this area called tiong bahru, it’s a very nice classy place w many cafe. Theres also a bigger hawker called Tiong Bahru Market.
      Overall not bad!

    Stayed at Oasia Novena and Downtown (was rebooked there without additional cost). A bit higher prize but was worth it. Liked the Downtown location better, but overall preferred Novena.
    But this Video gave me a few ideas for next time 😊

    Hi! Can you please recommend where we should stay during NYE? We're looking for a not-so-luxurious hotel with an open rooftop (or with family-friendly rooftop restaurant). Which place do you think is the best where we can view a nice fireworks display? Thanks 😊

    • @dashingheights
      @dashingheights  11 дней назад

      wahhhh non-luxury rooftop is abit tough. MOST rooftop restaurants would be fully booked too by now. You can try maps.app.goo.gl/6bfYLjXq9A2jEtCm8 . Alternatively any restaurants facing the marina bay that opens past midnight could be a good spot.
      All the best!
