I was looking on Amazon, and there are less expensive ones for sure. However, as an entire complete set, makes this one a standout. Most I saw are only 1 or 2 angles, and only contain a couple of 'honing/sharpening' discs. I have some German and Japanese knives, and they all have different blade angles. Having the critical guide, the 5 different angles makes this device. If you have a Ginsu knife, this item is not for you. 😃
At $189 I don’t think the home cook/amateur chef is going to buy that. Shapton stones are way cheaper and take only a few minutes extra. At least for my budget…..js
