Thames Path day 1 Thames Barrier to Tower Bridge

- I needed a winter challenge , I absolutely loved this National Trail when I last walked it in 2018 . It is hard to believe it is 4 years ago. It was great re watching my previous videos to revisit the path. This time I have decided to do the return journey
Aj decided to walk this section with me again, but this always makes walking past a brewery or pub incredibly difficult. Hence the Thames path walk turned in to the Thames Path pub crawl .
Planning the weekends walk , Bus to London , underground from Notting Hill to Tower Hill tube station, we stayed at the Travel Lodge at Tower Bridge. Every where was accessible for the two days of walking

Great views of the barrier. I went by boat from Westminster, thru the barrier, then turned around and stopped at Greenwich, then walked up to the Prime Meridian. It was 2008, so didn't have to pay What a day. 2 items on my life list in 2 hours.

I did Woolwich>Putney, 21.3 miles, on the weekend - very chilly start but the rain held off, did it in around about 6 hours! So many runners ~Battersea onwards
was it flooded. I'm putting off my return until the weather is less wet
@@lisakinahan6105 Not at all, thin ice was around a bit on some parts (I left before 6am before sun had a chance to catch some of it) and was a day before the storm, I guess I got very lucky!

Check the Thames Path website for flooding. I'm based in Oxfordshire and it's very flooded unwalkable. I can't wait to get back on the path. I have a new dog and wondering the logistics of walking from the Barrier with him
@@lisakinahan6105 Thank you! I think we will maybe follow diversions or get very damp in the worst case scenarios! You know what it's like when you have the whole day planned! 😅
