- In this episode we take to the train from South Wales to Kemble, a small town in the Cotswolds which also happens to be the official start of the Thames Path National Trail, a 184 mile long path which meanders through several counties before finishing it's journey at The Thames Barrier in Woolwich.
We spend 2 days of steady walking through stunning, remote countryside to get to Lechlade, another very pretty town on the banks of the young Thames. It's fascinating to see the most well known river in the UK grow from a pile of dry stones in the Gloucester countryside to the winding, elegant river hosting swans, ducks as well as a thriving boat community from Lechlade onwards when it becomes navigable.
We hope you enjoy watching. We will be publishing the next instalment next week so please subscribe if you would like to keep watching us :)

It was a relic form the steam age. It was a water tower for steam locos which were used on the
Tetbury branch. On the other side of the station you would have seen the platform for the Cirencester branch. Both branches closed in the 1960s.
Hi there, doing this Thursday, how long was this route in the one day please
Enjoyed tagging along with you both! Loved the untouched church. I reckon the fella at the first pub knocked up the stone plinth and story about that being the source of the Thames to drum up business! Good Luck!
Haha yes I wonder if that’s how the stones arrived there 🤭 Thanks for watching 👍🏼
i thought the mushrooms i found in my garden had kicked in but then the video went into normal graphics
Haha 😂 I think we look better as cartoons 😝
Is the Thames really as dirty as it looks?
It looked lovely and clear where we were .... but we were only at the very start of the Thames 😊
