- Our cover of the Theme from Lupin III (1978), composed by the legendary Yuji Ohno. This arrangement by Patrick Bartley.
Now THIS is taking it back! How long have you been waiting for us to do this? I can guarantee you not nearly as long as we've been waiting to play it. This kind of serves as a preview for what would be to come with a larger band, but we were surprised with how many twists and turns we could pull out of this duo combination! If you're a fan of Cowboy Bebop, or jazz in anime in general, this is where it all started - do yourself a favor and go check out Lupin the Third! Not only does it have incredible big band music, but it's also just a great collection of thievery shenanigans and super lovable characters. Go watch it!

Man, this cover was fantastic. I'd love to see more Yuji Ohno in this channel! It'd be interesting to see more instruments playing together to really squeeze out that jazzy feeling, but this sax+bass combo was very nice by itself

Lupin III was such a huge part of my childhood, and definitely the reason why I love jazz and jazz-related music so much. The way Lupin has inspired works such as Cowboy Bebop and Persona 5 is probably why I love those so much as well. Thank you for this cover, and happy new year (PS: More Lupin covers, please)!

Wow! i literally watch Lupin III yesterday for the first time, it was awesome, the soundtrack is really good. I've been really enjoying the saxophone and bass arrangements, I especially liked this one. You are amazing, happy new year!

This is really good, but it really needs the other instruments to complement this.
I felt the same. Just doesn't hit the same without the accompaniment
I don't think it needs all of them, but a little bit of percussion and maybe at least one other instrument would probably make it a lot better.
It has such a jazzy big band sound, it's kind of weird to hear it without all the pieces
That's kind of the concept of a sax/bass duo, though. More is not always better! Only two notes at a time, so it's very spacious and their two individual notes will imply the rhythm and chord changes. We usually hear Patrick with an upright bassist, so it's interesting to hear the percussive difference with an electric player.
Its nice if they drums sound looks good
