      @@oceanwave4142 they really do. we don’t have the additional taxes on our things because it’s already included in the price not done separate. We get taxed for everything. Our government also doesn’t help us. For instance if we order something from the US for $15 we get hit with shipping to our us address then we get hit with shipping it to Bermuda. It gets here we have a custom tax and a delivery tax.

    As a Bermudian I am finding it increasingly difficult to stay living here. Groceries are through the roof! Government put on a sugar tax so everything went further up in price. It's almost impossible to be able to afford to eat healthy and according to Government that was the reason for the sugar tax. The wages in Bermuda certainly have not gone up at the same rate as the cost of living. It's gorgeous in Bermuda but with beauty comes a price. I enjoyed watching your video as I have American friends that just are amazed by food prices. Yes we import most things but who is to blame for the prices? Government for import fees or grocery stores making money or most likely both. At this rate you are going to have people stealing food to survive!

      It's not fair to instill these high taxes on an island nation, you have no other option. That is so unfair. In the United States if a county or a town raises their taxes on a certain item you can drive 20 minutes to a half hour or longer and find what you're looking for somewhere else for much cheaper. But in Bermuda unless you have a jet that you can shoot over to the United States to buy something for a cheaper price. you're screwed..... and I realize if you had a private jet you wouldn't even need to do that, so don't beat me up over that comment please. 😊😊

    I’m surprised to see mostly all American brands (and only major brands at that!) Don’t they produce any local foods of their own? Of course imported food will be costliest. Also some of the prices aren’t as low in the USA as he says they are. Especially not in Florida, where I live. For example Red,yellow, or orange bell peppers are about $2.50 to 2.99 each. I haven’t seen them sold for a dollar anywhere in the last 15 years. And I’m a major bargain hunter!

    Everything is imported plus tax ….. it can't be cheaper than USA . I don't understand why in Bermuda the same mineral water has different price from one market to another , the water I buy cost $ 1.85 per bottle in Market Place in another one cost $ 2.20 , 2.60 , 2.80 for the same bottle ! I know now where is more convenient to buy : olive oil , water , pasta , meat , fish , wine …..I don't buy everything all in one place , for me will be very expansive and the quality are different also from one shop to another one , good quality is Miles but is impossible to buy everything there too expansive for me , I can't say the name of shop where I don't like the quality of fresh meat , fish and veg but I see the price are not too cheap also . Compare the price same product different price .

If y’all think the food is expensive you haven’t seen anything. The cars are 2.5 - 3x the price of cars in the US. And the average house cost 1.2 million USD.

    When you shop in Bermuda, be aware there are two jurisdictions. One is in the Western part of the island; with its modern, cookie-cutter box shaped buildings. It is operated under socialist democracy principles with communism mixed in.
    The other is in the Eastern side of the island. The governing system is an autocracy in conjunction with capitalism. The eastern side of Bermuda was carved out by Britain in preparation for the island's independence. Once this is achieved - around 2024 or 2025 (felix Todd revealed it), then the east end of Bermuda will transition to communism in totality. But not before the steering committee disbands. Their presence in Bermuda will be about 25-30 years.
    From that point onward, the international watchdogs will monitor Bda.
    Food expensive?! Yes, you know you're in the midst of trouble when you encounter high food prices. No-one should profit from FOOD. Everything else supporting it but not good itself.
    Bermuda needs a lesson from the health industry to make the point. Obesity arises from NOT EATING.

    • @TonyFlorida
      @TonyFlorida  4 года назад

      Interesting perspective 🤔

    • @SamuelDM780
      @SamuelDM780 4 года назад +1

      High food prices is directly linked to obesity. One cannot buy nutritious food because the cost is high. Snack foods are high in pricing also yet lower than the cost for a proper meal.
      Obesity is the human body telling you "we're in feast and famine mode! This biological function puts weight on. It has to stop.
      The best way is to deal with the supermarket cartels who work together to keep food costs high. Investigate and determine who they are.
