I just pulled on one end of a q-tip to swipe inside my charging port and it worked (my phone did not fall inside water, all chargers were fine, i-phone just sensitive).
I just tried that and hasn't worked 4 me. All I did was spill a drop of coffee on the end of the phone nothing major. I did dry it all of . Now getting this stupid message.
This happened to me when my iPhone 12 was almost brand new, and I had no idea why as there had been no obvious exposure to water anywhere with the phone. So I followed the suggestions like you mention in the video. I think Applecare also suggested I set the iPhone near a open window with a breeze and I guess that aids in any drying out. It took several hours for the phone to be okay again.
Help, my phone wasnt by any water and it says the warning. I changed cords and still get the notification. What should i do?? The port is completely dry
My phone completely fell in a dirty puddle and I didnt know what to do.. when I came across your video. I just followed your instructions and VOILA - it worked. Thank youuuu
What worked really well for me was using those silica moisture absorbent bags inside a ziploc bag. I didn’t keep track of time but left it there for an hour and worked fine with me.

This one based on many searches sounds like a bug/ scam trying to prepare us for portless but I need one for data transfer in low to no coverage areas. Thank you for the video 🙏
My GF’s iPhone was accidentally submerged in a hot tub for about 3 seconds. Her phone subsequently received the message that liquid was detected. She waited about 45 minutes and everything charged normally. However, I did not think of removing the SIM card to let that port dry out. She’s not home right now but when she returns, I might check out the SIM card to see if there is any corrosion forming. We shall see….

Left my phone on an outside table and it rained overnight. I have an iPhone 12 pro. I then took a small knife and carefully stuffed the tissue into the port further. Being careful not to pull the tissue out quickly, I wiggled it out so it would not tear off inside the port. This was very informative. I've had this issue with a Samsung 7, with one particular charge cable. I tried another one & phone started charging. Tried a week later, same thing. Like you said, cable was defective. Thanks for your very wise advice👍👍
Couldn't find a video on how to fix it for iPads/tablets so I watched this. Found out u just have to shake it sideways for around 5 seconds and then leave it tondry for around 10 mins. The alert has stopped now! Ty

i did this and it worked! nothing else worked. even the audios that "get water out of your phone" which usually work. i did these steps and it finally worked thank you guys so much!
How do we get the water to dry out of the cable? I plugged my phone into a different cable and it started charging, which means the water is in the cable instead
I got the message also. Before I saw the video I have blown dry my iPhone. Then I have done everything you suggested on the video. Nothing worked🤷🏻♀️So finally I decided to restart my phone as suggested by one of the watchers and - EUREKA! It helped on instant! 🤔🤔🤔
I got this message once for no reason. It was plugged in all night. I unplugged to use and didn’t move from my chair and plugged in and got this message. Waited a few minutes and it was fine. Crazy.
My 11pro did this right after last iPhone update. It was NEVER around water. I hard pressed to turn off. I Restated the iPhone and POOF 🎉it worked. Google said “the new update caused problems for 10 or 11 models” no clue but restarted it worked 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
Back in the day a Freind dropped his iPhone in water accidentally of course . It was not turning on . He did the rice thing and his dad worked for NASA so they took the iPhone to NASA placing it in a vacuum machine . The iPhone worked like a champ afterwards .
My iPhone 14 pro has been giving me this message for over a month and at this point I don’t even care and press emergency override each time. Had enough of it so decided to see how to finally resolve this annoying pop up. Didn’t see any changes however
There was no chance I had water or “liquid” im my charging port. Solution was: used a soft wooden toothpick to fished out a bunch of lint and fuzz out of the port . Reconnected the cable and charging activated. A better description for the alert would be something like poor connection or something along those lines as opposed to declaring it is liquid . Cone on Apple. Does anybody know what they are doibg over there? Does anybody care?
Omg thank you! I just did it with a needle and tissue paper and then the end of a floss pick with tissue paper and then thinly putting it over the charger itself then pushing it in😭 I did all that and it was still saying it had water but I was like there’s no way cause only one drop may have flown in so I turned it off then on and it’s not saying it anymore!
My iPhone was splashed with a bit of soda, not water. And I did everything you guys mention here but after it charged up to 61%, the message warning came up again that it cannot be charged because water was detected! I even let it dry out overnight. But I thank you for trying to help. I can’t do the emergency override because I don’t know how to do that. May have to get a NEW iPhone! Oh well, such is life.
I just got an iPhone for the first time, I was scared when the same thing happened to my phone, it reminded me, I thought it was broken , then I immediately searched for how to get rid of it, and because of that i felt comfortable. Thankyou 🙏
I am having a liquid detected notification on my Dad's ipad. There is no liquid in the ipad. It has been giving this message for months now. It still charges, and it can still be used. If you try to use it while it is plugged in, sometimes the speakers will cut out when watching video. If it is not plugged in it works fine.
My wife dropped her s8 in the ocean ( herself as well ), I sprayed electrical cleaner in which dispersed the water, then blew out the electrical solution with a drinking straw. Cut the straw into a little spatula and pushed a piece of paper towel to polish the terminals. Runs like a charm, but threw away the cable that she plugged into it.
I just bought a new iPhone and of course pourd a whole cup of coffee over it.. I cleaned it and later in the evening when i wanted to charge it up i saw the message and panicked. ^^' I carefully put a piece of tissue with a toothpick in the port and cleaned the cable. After that it worked again but what did the trick now, no clue but thanks for relieving me from the inital panic attack. xD
Thank you so much this happened At 11:00 pm when I was about to go to sleep and I was scared and I said it up and I found you and so I will. I got a different charger and then it didn’t do the water thing so now I know not to use that charger, so thank you.
Been sprinkling all day and forgot about my iPhone 14 was out, charger port facing upwards 😐, but the tissue method worked very well. The alert message stopped
It also does this with faulty cables despite the port being perfectly dry. My cables sometimes say there is liquid in the port, I use another cable, and the message goes away.
You may have recommended this later on in the video from where I am leaving this message, but, heating it up with a hairdryer will accelerate the evaporation inside the phone without overheating the phone to the point where it will fail. One may have to wait a few minutes for it to cool down, but it should not adversely affect the phone. Absolutely positively do not leave it on top of your electric range or try putting it into the oven
I was eating fish n chips, had my Tatar sauce next to my iPad, unplugged my iPad and it brushed the top of the tarter sauce I did not know it brushed it. The next day I plugged in my iPad and got the message, unplugged it and seen nothing, but a small amount of tarter in the plastic piece. I let it dry and it works fine now.

I'm watching because this happened to me today while on my honeymoon. I tried using a blow dryer that had a cool air setting to not overheat the phone. I ended up having to wait because after that my phone froze while at dinner. My wife kept in her purse for the evening. I tried charging it again by plugging it into my laptop and it seems to be working again.
Same here. I didn’t drop it in water. It just says liquid detected for I don’t know reason. Then a day after the charger worked however now I have to plug in the charger a few times before the phone detects a charger
Ipad Pro 11" Didn't drop it in water but left it at work and it rained. It works fine apart that it won't charge. Never had a warning about water in the port. I have a reusable desiccant bag from HV switch gear I will put in the oven to dry and then try on the ipad.
I honestly was just charging my phone and it randomly went “water detected”, even though there was no way for water to get water in, anyways thanks for the help

@@desireebasaldu5965 oh my goodness! I’m so sorry. Just leave your phone alone. Let the phone dry for 24 hours. Don’t put no rice or anything. I remember I charge my phone at 4 pm through 6 am. When I touch my phone at 6 am, it working fine. I called my mom and it working fine. Try that way. It should be work . my phone working one day. That’s crazy! For example, I drop my phone yesterday. I leave my phone alone and let it charge, then it working for the next day.
i did this and it worked! nothing else worked. even the audios that "get water out of your phone" which usually work. i did these steps and it finally worked thank you guys so much!
I accidentally dropped mine into a pot of boiling water 😂
LOL 😂😂😂
I aint readin allat but we 🆙🔥
Mine was in a toilet
me to lmao
Mine was while I was listening to music in the shower💀💀💀
I got this message once for no reason. It was plugged in all night. I unplugged to use and didn’t move from my chair and plugged in and got this message. Waited a few minutes and it was fine. Crazy.
That happened to me once
Some how water got into my charging port, I don't even know how. Luckily the tissue was all that I needed to fix the issue. Thank you sm! ❤️
Same thing happened to me. Only restarting the phone helped
What worked for me is that I sucked the water out of the port and it literally work
I wanna do this but I’m scared too
lol I wished I read this comment earlier
Wtf. Only thing that worked till now. Was hygienic? No. But it worked like a charm 🤭
How do I do that
Amazing man... thanks!!!...in situations lik these...fcuk hygiene!
I tapped my ipad like a baby for 5 minutes then swabbed the port with tissue paper and it worked! Thank you so much sir🙏🙏
Y they coming off like news reporters 😂
Glad 😂i found this video first one on RUclips and glad i watched it cuz i was doing all things you guys said not too now I know
Ty so much for this !! 😭 It went back to charging in 2 mins after watching this !!
Trust me when I say this, keep connecting and disconnecting it it will work I promise I just did it
Lol fr did work 😂
Lool it worked for me too, iPhone 13 pro max
Thank you! My phone was fully submerged but now it is working again 👍
Oh well, such is life.
have you thought about taking the phone to a phone repair shop, they can probably sort you out..
What happened finally?
I just got an iPhone for the first time, I was scared when the same thing happened to my phone, it reminded me, I thought it was broken , then I immediately searched for how to get rid of it, and because of that i felt comfortable. Thankyou 🙏
I was sick and accidentally spat on my phone and now it's doing this 😢
lol
@@gaudl34 lmao
Wow disgusting and hilarious at the same time. Well played haha
I carefully put a piece of tissue with a toothpick in the port and cleaned the cable. After that it worked again but what did the trick now, no clue but thanks for relieving me from the inital panic attack. xD
Thx so you saved my life from getting in trouble by my mom
I tried hitting it on the back and it worked!!! I held it like normal with the charging port facing down
THANK YOU!!!! It was my cable! I just swapped them and its fine now.
Yay!
@@PayetteForward you saved me a trip to a apple store, thank you so much!
Thank you so much this happened
At 11:00 pm when I was about to go to sleep and I was scared and I said it up and I found you and so I will. I got a different charger and then it didn’t do the water thing so now I know not to use that charger, so thank you.
If your iPhone gets wet, you should wipe it dry only with a $20 Apple cleaning cloth 😂
Thank you! Tried another cable and it worked.
i did everything i wasnt supposed to do after dropping my iphone in the toilet,,,, still works!!!
Been sprinkling all day and forgot about my iPhone 14 was out, charger port facing upwards 😐, but the tissue method worked very well. The alert message stopped
It also does this with faulty cables despite the port being perfectly dry. My cables sometimes say there is liquid in the port, I use another cable, and the message goes away.
lmaoo before watching this video i was using a hairdryer for like 10 minutes 💀💀
You help me so much when I drop my phone in a bowl of water. Thank you.
The tapping at the back method worked for me in just 10 minutes

Happened to me just yesterday
So I covered my plug with a tissue, stuck it in, take the tissue out, try again, and repeat until it stops complaining
I have seen that using rise works if you lay the iPad or phone on top of the rice in a sealed container. i.e. don't let rice into appliance holes!
Been over 8 hours. Still have the error. Awesome.
do you still have it?
Just buy another one tf. There, saved you some time.
Put some cotton in the port for a minute. Then try. Mine worked like that. I waited for 2 days, nothing happened them tried this
@@gvs6462 nah time is money. So all the money spent on a new one = time i have to spend working to cover that expense. Gotta think about money and time in relation to one another rather than separate from one another. It did eventually start working again.
@@gvs6462stfu with your stupid advice
I'm watching because this happened to me today while on my honeymoon. I tried using a blow dryer that had a cool air setting to not overheat the phone. I ended up having to wait because after that my phone froze while at dinner. My wife kept in her purse for the evening. I tried charging it again by plugging it into my laptop and it seems to be working again.
what if i didnt drop it in water it just says that 😭
It could be moisture
Same here. I didn’t drop it in water. It just says liquid detected for I don’t know reason. Then a day after the charger worked however now I have to plug in the charger a few times before the phone detects a charger
same but i think it might just be sweat..
Thank God. I just wiped it with tissue and it worked. already blow it with hair dryer and live it for several hours but didn't work
Mine is a brand new charger and Everytime I use it it says that and there is no liquid
What did you do
Video helped - I went to a lagoon and took a water proof case however water still got inside :/ ended up realising after 10 minutes, fried phone but in locker - howver hours later when tried to charge wouldn’t work left it around 4 hours tapped it like said in video and also dried for two minutes again left for 2 hours then used my friends fhsrger and it worked
I think what had happen is my Actuall wire had water damage !!
Nearly had a panick attack
Yay! Your phone survived. A story with a happy ending. Thanks for sharing :)
I think im cooked💀
i jumped in the pool with it and stayed in there for like 2 or 3 minutes im probably cooked too my bratha
My 😊iphone has never been near any liquid and I still get this message.
