1800s against you: You both miss a basic fork "My opponent is playing so good" you think to yourself Hikaru against 2000s: Every blunder is noticed and exploited, so it seems like there's more of them
It is also kind of cathartic seeing those guys who would destroy me in any game being mated by a guy while he is distracted talking about Indian food and doing bad openings on purpose, seeing 1800-rated players blunder makes me hopeful, you know?
Next soeedrun should be a wheel with handicaps on it like “pieces can’t enter b file” or “pawns cannot capture” and there’s like 20 of these on a wheel and he spins before each game
Hey hikaru if you ever see this. Just wanted to let you know that your content is amazing. I've been watching and learning about your competitive chess and streaming side for almost 2 years now. Just wanted to say keep up the great work. You and levy are the only people who bring interesting content to the game imo.
God, ur intros are so good, i was feeling heartbroken cause of my gf, and after the intro i was already smilling HAHAHHAA Thanks for the content Hikaru.
"grob" can mean rude in german, but it could also mean "about" in an estimation (das sind grob 100 Bäume = there are round about 100 trees) but it could also mean coarse or rough. The more you know.
Huh -- TIL that the Russian root of the same word ("грубо") came from German. It is pronounced similarly and has these exact three meanings as well. Thank you!
@@vikasbiliye5023 Maybe you mean "Schwein"? That would be the German word for pig and sometimes it's used as an insult or to friends as a nagging thing.
I googled "Grob in German" to verify the early claim that it means "rude" in German. Google said it translates to "rough". Unless there's some cultural context that I'm unaware of where "rough" means "rude", then the person who claimed it seems to be wrong. To be sure, I reverse searched it, and it said the German translation for the word "rude" is "unhöflich" Edit (Addition): I just figured maybe it's German slang... like if we used "coarse" to describe someone's personality... I looked up why the opening "the grob" was named what it is... and wikipedia (not saying it's fact, but it's what it says) it was named after the person who first thought it up (of course), Swiss IM Henri Grob. If this was meant to be a joke, somehow, I definitely missed it... but it seems more just like misinformation (not claiming intent)... and I wanted to verify (as it'd be cool to know, if it were true).
Indeed it’s the “In passing” En puissant Long ago they thought it was unfair that you could push the pawns 2 spaces in a way where an opposing pawn would not be able to attack where it would have been able to before when the pawns could still only move 1 space at a time. So for 1 move and one move only a pawn that jumps up right next to one of your pawns (avoiding a would be opportunity for attack if it had only moved 1 space) you can capture it as though it only had moved 1 space. Removing the piece and placing your pawn behind theirs diagonally again as though it had only moved a single space. I explained this poorly and repeated myself often. You can piece it together I’m sure
how can you play against casuals and be so disrespectful? like how arrogant can you be to think you're so much better than other people who are playing for fun while you're destroying them in what you've spent your life career on just for "content"? absolute king of conceit and narcissism

I can see hikaru and his bled out ego streaming twice as much til his defeat against magnus on sunday, just so he doesn‘t have to reflect on himself as number two in the world of chess, but a content creator playing chess only for fun. Hikaru should be intelligent enough to undestand that without playing tournaments for almost two decades now and beeing as good as he is, he wouldn‘t be no streamer. Magnus will disrespect hikaru on sunday.
This disrespect speedrun is my favourite thing on the internet rn
I fall asleep to it every night lmao

I used to think that it is bored/not fun to see, but it's just relaxing

But still, I make sure that I complete watching the whole thing the next day..

That game right after the "chicken tikka massala" comment is savage. What was the 1800 thinking?
A lot of people watch downloads. Can that affect viewing numbers for chess streamers?
how to do the board and the effects like hikaru some one tell me
Impressive that in 167 games he blundered only 2 moves, I'm 1200 and I blunder every 2 moves
Good luck against magnus 🫡
Take and take and i take takes take 😂
Where the hell was NF4 at 5:26?
Grob doesn't mean rude in german, it means rough or crude.
No checks speed run would mean actively playing bad moves, you would not be able to get to 3000 with no checks.
I also always make sure to always smell my armpit after blundering
IDK either how an 1800 can fall for that trap and lose in 8 moves. Perhaps he's 800 but wants to challenge Sulu
the gap is huge!!!
The Sacrifice 💀
