I have a 2018 198p the tubes and the face plate are one piece. When you remove the face place and unstick the tubes from the foam, it all come out as one piece and then you have an open hole. it looks like what yours looked like after the cutting. The good thing about the older ones is no cutting required!
What size Rods can you easily get in that box after Modification ? Will a 7’6” rod fit in there easily? What about an 8 ? Would Ranger void a hull warranty because of the mod ? I know you said you didn’t cut out any structural, but manufacturers can be picky in the fine print .
So far we haven’t. And we have run in some really rough water. But the rods are hitting the edge of the metal. They lay on plastic. But also we use rod socks as well

I just tried this on my 2018 rt 188. It’s all one piece. Had it most of the way out but wouldn’t come out. Decided to mess with it another day so I put it back in. Now I have no power to tilt switch and front graph. Not a good night

Just did my '12 z521. Messy pain since the tubes are foamed in so well. Worth it though

Any idea if this would cause issues with warranties? I know that a lot of places will do anything to get out of honoring a warranty.
