Great video need to read all of it.
Thank you so much!
Hey Taylor, there is a Mike Allred, Bug the Forager trade which was printed by a print branch of DC called Young Animal. I don't know where it fits in a Fourth World reading order but it is a must read for a Mike Allred and Fourth World guy.
YES! I have that TPB. I am a HUGE fan of Allred. I considered it being in this reading order, but felt it might be too obscure a character to throw in... But, I guess it IS relevant!
Thank you very much for doing this!! This helped me a lot. I appreciate it! You knowledge about The Fourth World is awesome. I am very keen to get into this series by The Great Comic God in Human Form himself..Jack "The King" Kirby!! Subscribed!! 🔥🔥
You're welcome! And thank you very much for watching and commenting! Always appreciated!
the only books you were missing are, The legion of superheroes 290-294. Good video over all
@@rafaelcardona6801 you’re right! And I even have the hardcover that collect those stories!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video, i will definetly try to obtain whatever i am missing among Fourth Wold Comics.
That is awesome! Thanks for watching!
Great video. I came to the Fourth World (and Kirby in general) after reading Final Crisis. So I've been reading the omnibus and getting familiar with the history of the Fourth World after Kirby. Oddly enough, Final Crisis serves as sort of a touchstone for me and a reference point for working backwards and understanding DC comics history and discovering more titles. I'm interested to see John Byrne's take on the characters.
I haven’t read Final Crisis yet! I’m trying to read through all of the DC events. So, I’ll get there eventually! But, I love the context you’re reading this in! Sometimes going backwards to fill in gaps is fun!
Nice!
Thanks!
Thanks for the heads-up on the New Gods hardcover by Gerry Conway, and the Mister Miracle hardcover by Steve Englehart and others.
You’re welcome! I need to revisit this read thru series for future videos!
Darkseid Is. Cool vid bro!
Thanks!
Excellent video. If you have to choose between Mark Evenier and Byrne run, which one will be?
I couldn’t tell you yet! This is my first time reading anything past Kirby’s run!
That’s going to be the fun of this video series is I’m going to review each one!
I could do a ranking afterward if you think that would be cool! Either way…. Look forward to more Fourth World content on the channel!
Curious about Walter Simonson run. I do feel weird. This was clearly a creator's own book and it's a shame he didn't get more time with his ideas.
It definitely is a shame! I do wish Kirby would've got his wish and been able to finish it the way he wanted. Simonson is a Kirby devotee and is pretty faithful to the spirit of his work. Not unlike how Simonson handled Thor and FF.
@@TaylorTalksComics fun fact, Kirby turned down returning New Gods issue 12. He was worried being canceled twice and moved on. The forward from Mark Evanier forward in your fourth volume talks about it. Crazy
@@TaylorTalksComics I dont know who, wish someone would aim to bring Hungary dogs into a landing. Try to connect it with the rest from Kirby. Also, love an hbo show of it!
nice video!
Thanks! I appreciate that!
This video was just what is was looking for! Thanks!
Would you say the Gerry Conway run is good?
Could someone go from jack kirbys fourth world straight to cosmic odyssey and beyond?
Gerry Conway’s run isn’t bad. It’s tough since it follows directly after Kirby.
And yea, you could go from Kirby to Cosmic Odyssey. You wouldn’t miss much. This video is more for an all completionist reading order.
@@TaylorTalksComics
cheers for the response, I might come back the the Gerry Conway run later then.
@@gassedlikenarstie7173 let me know if you like it!
Amazing video. I thought you were the same guy that Sequentials Deluxe Channel, very similar voice you have. Greetings from Chile.
Thanks! And haha that’s funny. I’ll have to check out his channel to hear my doppelgänger voice!
Bro
Didn’t make it through your long ass intro…
It’s only 30 seconds and you can click through it if you don’t have time. Thanks for the feedback though.
This timeframe is when comics didn’t suck.DCeased Comics is horrible and nothing like Kirby.
Comics today don't suck. If DC isn't giving you what you want try Image, Dark Horse, Boom, IDW, Fantagraphics, D&Q, SPP, Valiant, Silver Sprocket, Behemoth, etc etc.
@@TaylorTalksComics, good point but DCEASED Comics and Woke Marvel Comics had gone full leftist. Image Comics has some bad comics with partisan propaganda. There are also independent comic book creators giving us good comics. Valiant has Heather A- hole running the show still, right? If so, there doomed.
@@LordZandersSoapbox4811 You are showing a bias here that is unfair to what is actually happening in the comics industry. There are plenty of comics out there without "leftist" or "partisan propaganda." Don't get focused on the few comics that RUclipsrs dedicate dozens of videos too. Go to the comic shop and explore for yourself. I promise you the majority of the comics on the racks today are not "leftist propaganda."
@@TaylorTalksComics I am old school. I only collect back issues of the top two. They are dead to me. I am looking forward to reading my copy of Isom, once I get it from my mail box
@@LordZandersSoapbox4811 I hope you enjoy it! But, don't forget there are 100s of comics on the racks from other publishers too. Ones that old school fans would dig. I am one of them!
