@@TaylorTalksComics Same. I bought the Byrne one at NYCC because he was signing at the IDW booth and with the purchase, I get two extra items signed for free.

In terms of X-Men during Claremont era, there is also Jim Lee X-Men one. So we kind of really need the JRJr and Marc Silvestri Artist Edition though with Dunbier leaving, that might not happen.

This one book collects the entirety of the JMS Thor run!

@@jfdiseg it does appear that way to me too. Jose Villarubia (comic book colorist and critic) has pointed out certain pages were actually recolored in this edition. Which is disappointing. It could be that this is a somewhat newer comic than the other material in the other Taschen editions. So, coming across good quality editions to scan for this volume might’ve been easier.

I don’t think so. I think digital comics will become more popular, sure. But, people will always want comics in physical formats. Even web comics that are read for free do crazy sales numbers in physical formats.

Chronological! Just like the single volume omni and two Absolutes. They’re standard sized, BUT! Are on a newsprinty like paper and have the most faithful color reproduction. Truly my favorite way to read this series!

If I recall correctly it was released at a similar time, maybe a few weeks before or after the two actual TPB’s being available separately, but the Wisdom of Lobo was an exclusive to this slip case set. The greatest hits format was something totally unique I have never seen before or since. I think I still have mine in a comic box, I think I need to go through them and pull it out.

That's awesome! I opted out of the slipcases. Partly because some were out of print when I started collecting these. And partly because slipcases takes away from shelf space! Ha!
